5G debuts in Brazil today, see compatible cell phones

Today, July 6th, we have the fifth generation of mobile internet in national lands — or at least in Brasília, for now. THE internet 5G debut in Brazil and we will answer any questions that users may have, such as the distribution in which the network is being offered, which operators are already working with the new technology and we will also offer a list of all smartphones, approved by Anatel and that have 5G compatibility. What is 5G?

Many must know about the internet connection via smartphone or tablet like the old 3G or the current 4G, technologies that allow these devices to connect to the internet without the need to be in an environment with Wi-Fi, which uses a fixed internet network. O 5G is the evolution of this mobile Internet, offering even faster connections and processes. For example, it will be possible to download files, watch videos and live streams, play online games and many other things with an even more stable and faster connection.

Different types of 5G

Although we see that 5G internet debuts in Brazil, there are some details to be informed about the novelty. There are three types of 5G, understand how each one works.

• 5G DSS: currently applied by most operators here in Brazil, this technology marks the transition from 4G to 5G. It uses 4G frequencies so that the user has a slightly better experience;
• 5G NOS: 5G NSA technology (or Non Standalone), unlike the previous one, already uses the 5G frequency but with a 4G network core. Here the internet frequency is also fast, but the latency is not so low;
• 5G SA: and finally, 5G SA (or Standalone) is offered through both 5G frequency and network core. The internet of this technology is quite fast and also has low latency. In addition to online games and files downloading much faster, industrial uses are also indicated.

Operators and distribution

5G is currently available exclusively in Brasilia, considered to have the highest concentration of mobile activities. Then the technology will also arrive in places like Belo Horizonte, Joao Pessoa, Porto Alegre e São Paulo, covering coverage for all federal capitals at least until the end of September. The operators TIM e Clear are offering 5G technology on the 2,5 GHz frequency, the same used in other countries that have joined the fastest mobile internet today.

Despite citing the two operators, there are reports of customers of Living, in Brasília, which are also already managing to make connections in 5G networks. Previously, the company had informed that it would implement it once it became possible to release the radio frequencies.

Team

Practically half of the population of Brasília will receive the 5G connection by TIM, which works through 100 antennas, working with 5G SA and 5G NSA. The locations that already have access to the new technology are:

Customers who want to use 5G SA and who are on the Tim Black ou Tim Black Family must make the payment of $ 20 monthly — through the Meu TIM app — to hire another 50 GB of internet and unlimited browsing on the app Twitch, for streaming online games and other content. Anyone who does not contract the 5G SA package will have access to the 5G NSA network.

Clear

already at the operator Clear the affected regions are Lago Sul and Plano Piloto — both also in Brasília. Anyone who connects to Claro's 5G network will see the sign "5G +” on your smartphone. there are no charges and the network will work for pre- or post-paid plan customers. The network offered will be 5G NOS, but as an obligation of Anatel, the company will implement the 5G SA network soon, specifically for agricultural and industrial applications, for now. Subsequently, customers will also be able to hire the internet SA separately.

Cell phones with 5G

As it is a relatively new technology – but it is currently the fastest –, the connection to the 5G network cannot be performed on any mobile device.
