On the second day of new Mac announcements, Apple presented a new Mac Mini with traditional M4, in addition to a more complete version, which has the chip M4 Pro. The models are supported by the platform Apple Intelligence, launched yesterday (28) and can now be ordered in Brazil. See the details right now.
Design
In terms of design, the Mac Mini 2024 It is more compact, despite being taller than the model released in 2022. Apple highlighted that this is the first model that is completely carbon neutral, with a reduction of more than 80% in greenhouse gas emissions in its materials, manufacturing, transportation and use by consumers.
And the color remains the same talk, used since 2010. The company also highlights that the new desktop computer has better hot air circulation for hours of use without loss of performance. It will be interesting to monitor day-to-day use when the model begins to be tested by experts.

CPU
Two M4 chips have been launched: the traditional version, with 10 CPU cores, and the Pro version with 12 CPU cores. It is worth mentioning that the model is ready to deliver high-performance activities and processing power for professionals who work with editing or rendering content.

In this new set, the new M4 and M4 Pro chips are up to 1,8 times more powerful in terms of CPU performance.
GPU
There are gains of up to 2,2 times GPU graphics processing also, compared to the M1 chip. Speaking of the simplest version, it has a 10-core GPU, while the most complete one has a 16-core GPU. Apple highlighted that the Mac Mini with traditional M4 can deliver up to 13,3 faster performance in the game World of Warcraft: The War Within compared to Mac Mini with Intel Core i7.
Another interesting fact is that compared to the Mac Mini with M2 Pro, the new Mac Mini with M4 Pro introduced today applies up to 1,8 times more audio effects plugins in a Logic Pro project, renders graphic animations in RAM up to 2 times faster in Motion and also finishes 3D renders up to 2,9 times faster in Blender.
The GPU also allows up to three displays to be connected at the same time on all Mac Mini models, either via Thunderbolt 4 or Thunderbolt 5.
NPU
Finally, the ability to perform AI tasks also increases to 40 trillion operations per second, being prepared to receive the Apple Intelligence. The AI platform will allow owners of the new Mac Mini to use writing tools that can not only write complete texts with different intonations, but also review content written by users.
Another good use of this NPU is in the new Siri, which is now smarter and can understand speech errors, in addition to receiving typed commands. It can, for example, send a message to a contact, activate Do Not Disturb mode and also teach how to use a MacOS feature.
The NPU will also be available in the Mail app: using Apple Intelligence, the most urgent emails of the day will be prioritized as soon as you start your day. You will also be able to see invitations and even boarding passes at a glance.
Also worth highlighting is the summarization in Mail: if you receive very long emails, there is a button to summarize everything in a few paragraphs.
Audio
All new Mac Mini models come with a built-in speaker that supports AAC, MP3, Apple Lossless, FLAC, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, and Dolby Atmos. Despite a major design change, they still feature a 3,5mm headphone jack.
RAM memory
The simplest version of the new Mac Mini has three RAM options for the user to choose from: 16GB, 24GB or 32GB. As for the version with M4 Pro, it will be possible to choose between 24GB, 48GB or 64GB.
Internal storage
In terms of internal storage, the new Mac Mini also doesn't disappoint. The simplest version has options of 256GB, 512GB, 1TB or 2 TB via SDD. The most interesting thing about the version with M4 Pro is its maximum amount of storage, which goes from 512 GB to up to 8 TB.
Connectivity
Wireless
The models are similar in terms of wireless connectivity: both have an antenna with Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
Wired
With support for connecting up to three screens at the same time, the most affordable version of the Mac Mini has three USB-C ports that follow the Thunderbolt 4 standard. The more expensive version comes with USB-C ports with the Thunderbolt 5 standard, which allows transfer speeds of up to 120 GBPs.
Apple chose to remove the USB-A inputs, but still kept the HDMI output for transmitting audio and video in cases where the other device does not have a USB-C output.
Price and availability
The new Mac Mini options can be ordered from today (29) at Apple website. The variant with traditional M4 costs from R$7.499. The price of the Mac Mini with M4 Pro starts at R$ 16.999, but, in its most complete configuration, it can cost up to R$59.098,80.
