eSports – Brazilian is in the final of Age of Empires II World Cup

After ranking in the top eight and winning two exciting matches, RiuT from Age of Empires II: The Conquerors is in the grand final of the WSVG World Championship, which takes place this week in the Maldives.

E-Sports are still growing in Brazil, but we already have big names out there. one of these is Daniel Lima, known by the nickname RiuT. After ranking among the top eight and winning two exciting contests, the Age of Empires II: The Conquerors is in the grand finale WSVG World Championship, which takes place this week, in the Maldives.

RiuT first faced the german Jordan_23. The Brazilian started in the lead, winning the first game of the best of three, but after an intense naval battle, Jor Dan managed to tie the game. The tiebreaker came with a quick attack of RiuT with cavalry units, closing the game in just 25 minutes and winning the match 2 games to 1. Then, RiuT clashed with the Chinese Yo, which eliminated another Brazilian, the dogao, by 2 to 1 comeback, match that you can see at the beginning of the video above. The first game also started in favor of RiuT, who won with well-coordinated attacks eliminating the opponent's peasants. Despite a serious error in Yo, which left its King exposed to combat in the middle of a Kingslayer game, the Chinese managed to maintain the advantage by controlling their siege units well, tying the game. Again, the tiebreaker was in favor of the Brazilian, who this time managed to get the better of a naval battle from the beginning, winning the match by another 2-1, which you can check out below. Now RiuT will face another competitor to be the leader of the winners' bracket, before facing the leader of the losers' bracket for the title of world champion and the award of $10 thousand.

The championship is being organized by World Series of Video Games, a company specialized in competitions of e-Sports. The selection was open to all interested parties, with amateur and semi-professional players also participating in various qualifying events in the United States, United Kingdom, Portugal, Brazil, Philippines, United Arab Emirates, Turkey, China and Russia. Besides Age of Empires, there are also disputes of Starcraft 2, Hearthstone e FIFA 15 coins. In total there will be more than $2 million in prizes.
