We arrived in August and the news in Disney + don't stop! After the union between the service and the Star +, the catalog became increasingly full, receiving new releases from both platforms. This month, we highlight the new film Planet of the Apes: Reign, in addition to the arrival of the series We are the lucky ones e Bandit Lives, with Juliana Paes, and new episodes of Futurama e Code Geass.

Series
We Are the Lucky Ones (07/08)
Starting with We are the lucky ones, which arrives on Disney+. It is a dramatic and historical series based on the novel by Georgia Hunter, which tells the true story of the Jewish Kurc family during World War II. The plot follows three generations of the family, facing Nazi persecution and fighting for survival. Middle child Addy tries to escape Europe, while Halina and other family members work in ghetto factories or hide under false identities.
Becoming Karl Lagerfeld (07/08)
Becoming Karl Lagerfeld is a series that delves into the life of Karl Lagerfeld, one of the most iconic figures in fashion. Set in the 70s, the series follows Karl from his early days as a fashion designer. prêt-à-porter (“ready to wear” clothes) ambitious in Paris, Monaco and Rome. The plot explores his rise to fame, his complex relationships and the intense rivalries that shaped his career, as well as highlighting the glamour, clashing egos and passionate relationships that defined Lagerfeld's journey to become a fashion legend.
Disney Junior Ariel (07/08)
Disney Junior Ariel is an animation inspired by the new version of the classic Disney, starring Halle Bailey. Aimed at children, the production explores a younger version of Ariel and other iconic characters, such as King Triton, Sebastian the crab, Flounder the fish and the villain Ursula. New characters have been introduced to expand the aquatic world of the classic. The series celebrates more than 30 years of public love for the story of The Little Mermaid, offering an enchanting experience for new generations of viewers.
Survival Mission – 3rd season (07/08)
The third season of Survival Mission, a South Korean series from Disney +, premieres in August 2024. Known for its extreme scenarios and survival challenges, the new season brings Yoo Jae Suk back, accompanied by new members, such as Kim Dong Hyun and Dex. With even more intense missions, the series continues to test the limits of human resistance in a post-pandemic scenario.
Are you sure?! (08/08)
Are you sure?! is a travel reality show starring BTS's Jimin and Jung Kook, premiering exclusively on Disney +. The series, consisting of eight episodes, follows the two K-POP idols on adventures set in New York, Jeju Island and Sapporo. They participate in various activities together, such as cooking, camping and canoeing, showing viewers the beautiful friendship and chemistry between the singers.
Solar Opposites – 5th season (12/08)
solar oppositions is an animated series created by the same author of Rick and Morty. The story follows a group of four aliens from a more advanced planet, who take refuge on Earth after the destruction of their universe. Initially, they feel out of place and uncomfortable with human customs, but little by little they begin to adapt – or almost – to life on Earth. Even so, they continue to maintain certain alien habits, such as shrinking and imprisoning their enemies.
Star Wars: Adventures of the Young Jedi – 2nd season (14/08)
Set in the era of the High Republic, Star Wars: Adventures of the Young Jedi tells the story of Kai, Lys and Nubs, three young apprentices sent by Master Yoda to train at the Jedi temple located on the planet Tenoo, under the guidance of Master Zia. Together, they embark on exciting journeys aboard the ship commanded by the skilled Nash and her droid RJ-83.
The Tyrant (14/08)
Directed by Park Hoon-jung (Girl on Fire), The Tyrants features a strong cast, including Cha Seung-won (Kick the Moon), Kim Seon-ho (Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha) and Kim Kang-woo (The Child). The plot revolves around a secret South Korean government project to improve human skills, which is discovered by US intelligence agencies. The situation becomes more complicated when a biological weapon is stolen during an attempted transfer between the two nations.
OceanXplorers (19/08)
OceanXplorers is a new six-part documentary series from National Geographic, produced in partnership with BBC Studios Natural History Unit and OceanX and featuring renowned director James Cameron (Avatar). The series takes viewers on board the OceanXplorer, a scientific research vessel, equipped with cutting-edge technology, to explore the most unknown parts of the oceans. Through a team of explorers and scientists, the series investigates oceanic mysteries, documenting animal life and underwater ecosystems.
Selenkay (21/08)
Selenkay is a fantasy and suspense series for children and young adults and produced by Metrovisión. The series follows Sofia Rivera, a 16-year-old teenager, who moves to the city of Rio Vivo, in the Argentine Patagonia region, and discovers that she has a mysterious power related to water. As she explores this power, the character becomes involved with the Fénix brothers and uncovers secrets about her true identity.
ZOMBIES: The Reanimated Series (21/08)
ZOMBIES: The Reanimated Series is a new animated series that continues the successful franchise ZOMBIES da Disney. The series follows the daily adventures of characters Zed, Addison, Eliza, Willa and others as they navigate the challenges of high school in Seabrook, a school that has become a haven for monsters and humans alike.
Only Murders in the Building – 4th season (27/08)
Only Murders in the Building tells the story of three strangers obsessed with true crime, who become involved in a real crime that takes place in their exclusive Upper West Side apartment building. Mabel, Charles and Oliver begin to suspect a possible murder and use their knowledge to true crime to investigate the case on your own. However, they soon realize that the killer may be among them, putting their lives in danger. Now, they need to race against time to unravel the clues and discover the truth before it's too late.
The Absent Voice (date to be confirmed)
The Absent Voice is a Latin psychological thriller that is among the releases of Disney + in August 2024. The series follows Pablo Rouviot (Benjamín Vicuña), a renowned psychoanalyst who investigates his brother's alleged suicide with the help of an inexperienced police officer, Cecilia Bermúdez. Based on the novel by Gabriel Rolón, the series mixes mystery, family secrets and psychological challenges.
Vidas Bandidas (date to be confirmed)
Bandit Lives is a new national series, starring Juliana Paes, which is among the new features of the Disney + in August 2024. The plot follows the story of Bruna, a powerful gang leader, who, together with her partners Serginho and Raimundo, carries out robberies against tourists in Rio de Janeiro. The series mixes action, suspense and drama, with moments of physical fights and police operations, highlighting the darker and more dangerous side of criminals' lives.
Mila no Multiverso – 2nd season (date to be confirmed)
Mila in the Multiverse is a series that follows the journey of Mila, a curious and fearless young woman, who discovers the ability to travel between parallel universes. Each universe features fascinating alternate realities, from futuristic high-tech worlds to places where ultimate magic reigns. With the help of unlikely friends and facing unique challenges in each dimension, Mila embarks on exciting adventures to unravel the mysteries of the multiverse.

Land of Tanabata
Land of Tanabata is a Japanese series available on Disney + which explores the traditions and legends of the Tanabata festival, celebrated in Japan. The story follows the deities Orihime and Hikoboshi, represented by the stars Vega and Altair, who meet annually. The series presents a narrative that connects the public to Japanese traditions, through stories based on the rich mythology of Tanabata.

My Dear Caretaker

Code Geass: Rozé da Reconquista

Ash, skilled in piloting Nightmare Frames, and Rose, a brilliant strategist, face the liberation operation led by the 100th Emperor Calis Al Britannia. As they attempt to plunge the world into confusion, they are called upon by the Japanese resistance of the Seven-Colored Star to retrieve Empress Sakuya and confront the Neo-British Empire.

The Fable
In the anime The Fable, we are introduced to the main character, simply called The Fable, an assassin whose prowess in eliminating targets with precision and effectiveness is widely recognized and feared by everyone. However, for someone gifted with these skills, the most challenging task may be the most surprising of all: trying to live an ordinary life. The conflict between his identity as a master assassin and the desire to fit into a peaceful existence creates a dilemma as he navigates the ups and downs of his journey to find a balance between a dark past and an uncertain future.

Futurama
Futurama is an animated series created by Matt Groening, the same creator of The Simpsons. The series, premiered in 1999, is set in the future, in the year 2999, following the adventures of Philip J. Fry, a pizza delivery boy who is accidentally cryogenically frozen and wakes up a thousand years later. He joins a team at the interplanetary delivery company Planet Express, which includes the robot Bender, the mutant Leela, and Professor Farnsworth.

Mission: Yozakura Family
Among the releases of Disney + in August 2024, there is the second part of the new anime Mission: Yozakura Family, where we follow the journey of high school student Taiyou Asano, who struggles to adapt to life after losing his family in a tragic car accident. Socially inept and isolated, Taiyou finds comfort and connection in his only friend, Mutsumi Yozakura, the head of the world's most powerful spy family.

The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat (23/08)
The Supremes at Earl's All-You-Can-Eat is based on a novel by Edward Kelsey Moore, which chronicles the lives of three longtime friends – Odette (Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor), Clarice (Uzo Aduba) and Barbara Jean (Sanaa Lathan) – in Plainview, Indiana. The central meeting point of their stories is Earl's restaurant, a place that bears witness to the joys, sorrows, secrets and the unbreakable power of the friendship that unites the trio.
