Does free VPN really exist? Meet Planet VPN

In addition to helping you access websites and content not available in Brazil, a VPN keeps data safe and encrypted when shopping and browsing online.

Although many people think this is illegal, there are no laws in Brazil that prevent the use of applications that change your browsing location. By adopting this practice, you can browse safely and still have access to content that may be blocked for those using a Brazilian connection. See all the details and learn about a free VPN option right now.

What is a VPN?

Being the acronym for Virtual Private Network or Virtual Private Network, a VPN is a tool that creates a secure, encrypted connection between the user's device and a remote server operated by the VPN.

In practice, your internet point (router or 3G/4G/5G mobile connection) stops connecting to a Brazilian server and instead connects to a server abroad. All data sent through this “tunnel” is encrypted and your browsing cannot be tracked at any time, which prevents hackers from accessing what you browse and, most importantly, from accessing your data.

This happens because, once the connection is established, all of the user's internet traffic passes through the encrypted tunnel to the server. VPN. This server then forwards the traffic to the public internet, masking the user's original IP address and replacing it with the server's IP address.

Benefits of a VPN

More than just “masking” your connection, a VPN can also keep your financial data completely secure, especially when accessing public networks.

Privacy protection

Since it is not possible to track the actual server you are connected to, this prevents advertisers from knowing where you are and especially what you have been searching for. Have you ever been in a situation where you searched for an item/establishment near where you live and then were impacted by similar ads? This situation happens because the location data was captured by the browser and used to display personalized ads.

Because a VPN masks your location by connecting you to a server outside of your home country, it’s as if you were searching for restaurants in São Paulo, for example, but were actually abroad. At least that’s the information that websites and advertisers will receive, even if you’re actually in São Paulo.

Security on public networks

A major problem with public networks is that hackers can access everything that is sent to these internet points. Cybersecurity experts strongly recommend that banking transactions that require you to enter a password should only be made on Wi-Fi points that have a password and are used by only a small percentage of people.

Even if you’re using a free VPN with basic encryption, your data will still be safe when connecting to public networks. It’s a great option for when you need to access Wi-Fi at cafes, airports, libraries, and more. Any security is worth it.

Access to restricted content

It’s quite common for video streaming services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video to restrict access to some content in their catalogs when comparing different regions. But using a free VPN can be the key to unlocking what you want.

Many people have been able to watch content not available in Brazil just by activating their virtual private network, since, for the servers, you are connected to an internet point in another country.

In addition, it is possible to use a virtual private network to access websites that have been banned or blocked in Brazil. Here, the same rule applies: even if you are in Brazil, the VPN application does the job of disguising your connection and the website works normally again. Many people have used VPN applications while X/Twitter was blocked in Brazil.

It is worth mentioning that using a VPN in Brazil guarantees the anonymity of everything you search for, because, as we said, everything goes through a tunnel when data is exchanged. Therefore, even if you are in Brazil, the data, instead of being sent to a server in Brazil (and naturally tracked), is sent to servers abroad.

This way, you can search for whatever topics you want without having to worry about other people seeing your browsing. This is also a way to avoid ads that appear based on what you search for, as we mentioned earlier.

A PlanetVPN is a company that offers free plans for up to one device, which guarantees your safe browsing without having to pay anything for it. If you want to have access to more international servers and connect the same account on different devices, you can opt for one of the plans, which cost from US$ 1,99 (R$ 11,56) if you choose the three-year plan.

But the most interesting thing about this free VPN is that it doesn't require you to create an account (which prevents you from receiving advertising messages) to be used. You can browse for as long as you want and there is no data limit. See the installation options for PlanetVPN:
