With Elon Musk's decisions and the blocking of X in Brazil for almost a month, many people have started using Bluesky permanently. But having to use a new social network also means that you need to start a profile from scratch. However, the Sky Follower Bridge extension can find who you follow from X on Bluesky in less than ten minutes. See the step-by-step guide right now!
Install the Sky Follower Bridge extension
First of all, it's worth remembering that you'll need a Windows computer or laptop to do this tutorial. That's because you'll need to install an extension on your Chrome browser to be able to add X users to Bluesky. That said, let's move on to the tutorial.
Step 01: First, go to the page Sky Follower Bridge in the Chrome Web Store and install the extension in your browser by clicking Use in Chrome. Here:
Step 02: confirm the installation of the extension by clicking on Add Extension.
Step 03: Once this is done, this part of the tutorial on finding who you follow from X on Bluesky is complete. When you click on the Google Chrome extensions tab, we recommend that you pin the extension to migrate users from X to Bluesky so that you can easily use it in the next step.
Create your app password in Bluesky
In order to follow everyone you followed on Twitter, also on the butterfly's social network, it is worth remembering that you will need to create an application password. This is the process that basically connects a username and unique password. See the screenshots below.
Step 01: access the Bluesky home page and log in to your account, using your username and password.
Step 02: now after clicking on Settings, select the tab Privacy and Security. Here:
Step 03: in the new window, click on App passwords.
Step 04: now click Add App Password.
Step 05: create a username for your password. You can put whatever you want or use one suggested by the social network. When you're done, click on Next.
The developers of Sky Follower Bridge point out that it is not necessary to check the option to allow access to direct messages.
Step 06: Your application password will be displayed on the next screen. Copy it and save it somewhere safe, as once you close this window, you will no longer be able to do this. Now, let's move on to the final step of our walkthrough.
Find your Twitter followers
Now, it’s time for the final step of our tutorial. Basically, you’ll be using your app password and the extension at the same time. Check out the screenshots below.
Step 01: Go to X and open your profile. Then, click on the tab of profiles you are following. It is not the followers tab, but the one you are following.
Step 02: Now, launch the extension within this page (and don't leave it).
Step 03: You will be asked for the email or username and password for the application created in the previous step of this tutorial. In our tests, even if you had chosen a username, this did not work. The way to make this work was to enter the email connected to the account and the application password.
Step 04: Now, let the extension search for the usernames of the people you follow on X/Twitter. The time it takes for this to be completed depends on the number of accounts you follow. Here, it was completed in 15 minutes.
Step 05: when the inspection is complete, simply check all the accounts found and start following each one.
You can also press the button Follow all to follow all the accounts found. Here:
Then, just wait for your friends and acquaintances from X to follow you back so you can connect on Bluesky. See how easy it is?
And tell us in the comments: what do you like best? Bluesky or X/Twitter?
