Concept reaches notebooks
According to the user of X, @xleaks7, known for presenting and leaking some news from the world of technology, accompanied by information from the website pigto, the new patent from Lenovo promises to innovate the market.
We all know that since the creation of notebooks, everyday life has become easier, as has professional life. A portable computer was exactly what many people have always needed, especially with the advancement of modernization. Now, with the possibility of a portable computer with a wide screen, work becomes increasingly productive.
In 2022 the Lenovo had already given indications of its plans when it presented a prototype of a smartphone with a rollable screen Motorola. This type of screen has also been featured on smartphones from other companies, such as Samsung and LG, however without having reached store shelves (even virtual ones). On notebooks, the Lenovo had already presented a prototype at MWC 2023 in which the screen extends upwards, as if they were two stacked canvases. Now, the company presents a new approach, with the ultrawide rollable screen.
Ultrawide rollable screen for greater productivity
Regarding the appearance of the device, it appears to be a common notebook when closed, and the main difference is the screen that expands to the sides. According to the patent illustration, the new notebook from Lenovo features a flexible body design consisting of fixed and movable parts to allow dynamic adjustments to the device surface.
The term ultrawide refers precisely to a screen aspect ratio that is wider than the 16:9 aspect ratio found on many traditional monitors and notebooks. Typically, ultrawide options have an aspect ratio of 21:9 or even wider, which provides a more immersive and expansive viewing experience, especially when watching movies or performing tasks that require a significant amount of screen space, such as video editing or working in spreadsheets.
Therefore, the notebook Lenovo it would feature a screen that can not only be rolled up to become ultrawide and offer a wider viewing area than common screens, but to make transport even easier. This means you could drastically improve your productivity due to the large moving screen. Furthermore, nowadays, carrying a notebook requires a bag, backpack or any other type of large support for the device to fit completely. With a rollable screen, this problem may no longer be a concern.
As already mentioned, this technology is still under development. According to its own pigto, it is likely that rollable smartphones will hit the market much sooner than this type of notebook. Furthermore, the fact that this is an idea already foreseen reveals the power of the increasingly rapid advancement of technology.
