Yes, that's what you read in the title, but let's take it easy to understand this story properly. The material is called shape memory polymer, it can be deformed and, with the application of heat, return to its original shape. The idea, already patented by Motorola, is to produce smartphone screens with this technology.
The devices would have software to identify when there was damage and ask for authorization for the repair. The user would then be asked to delimit the injured location. From there the area would be heated, causing the screen to return to its original. During this process the cell phone could not be used.
Screen with “healing factor” would be the next big thing on the market
The search for screen with “healing factor” it is not a novelty and much less a Motorola exclusive. Scientists have been working with polymers for some time and adapting their functions. An example is the L, released in 2013, which had a similar self-healing finish on the back.
Motorola has, since 2015, a smartphone that promises to be unbreakable, the Moto X Force. The technology ShatterShield will also be characteristic of the new member of the Z family, the Moto Z2 Strength, already announced in the United States.
We still don't have a date for when we will see self-healing screens on the market, so all we can do is wait and take good care of our current screens.

Well I think that's all right because scientists say between 2045 and 2050 we will be eternal.
