As highlighted José Marengo, coordinator of the National Center for Natural Disaster Monitoring and Alerts (Cemaden), the origin of this blackout seems to be of an operational nature. He pointed out that there is no alert related to drought, for example, that could influence the generation and supply of electricity. This observation suggests that the interruption in the power supply is not linked to climatic factors, being more likely issues within the power system.

Despite the low level of rainfall, we are not experiencing an extreme drought, especially in the northeast region, which is where the blackout started.

O National Electric System Operator (ONS) is currently in the process of review to determine the cause of this incident. Regions such as the Southeast and Midwest experienced occasional interruptions in the supply of electricity. In the Federal District, the Neoenergy clarified that an “occurrence of significant magnitude in the National Interconnected System (SIN)” had an impact on energy supply in various parts of Brazil. The situation in the Federal District was restored in the minutes following the crash. The team of Manuel Ventura e Renan Monteiro remains attentive to these developments.

Reactions on social media

As soon as many workers, students and several other people suffered from the lack of energy in different parts of the country, they soon took to social networks to express their reality. It is clear that among so many reports, the memes would not be left out, like our great Brazilian way of expressing ourselves. Check out some of them:

This user is not X (former Twitter) he was about to go back home, imagining that the power would not return, until he was surprised.

Yet another X user who tried to take advantage of the power outage.

And there were also those who tried to catch up during the minutes without power.

And you, did you end up without energy for a moment or for a long time? Or did you even run out of power in your region? tell us us Comment!
