Baldur's Gate 3 is anticipated for PC, but delayed on PS5

Despite the fact that the game was released in Early Access in the year 2020 and several updates have been released since then, the Run took the opportunity to show that all this is just the beginning. New classes, spells, races, and companions will join the journey throughout the remainder of the game.

In a comparison made by the studio, Baldur's Gate 3 has been under development for 6 years by a team of 400 people. The developer's flagship game so far, Divinity 2: Original Sin, took half that time to produce and involved “only” 120 employees.

In this way, the new title in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons presents even more impressive numbers. There will be more than 31 subraces, divided into 11 main ancestries, and more than 46 subclasses, also separated into 12 professions. Furthermore, Baldur's Gate 3 features over 600 spells and actions, as well as 308 passive skills.

When the game officially launches on August 3rd, two new races will become available for the player to choose as their main character: Dragonborn and Half-Orcs.

The first option, also known as Dragonborn in the community, is a rare figure in the Sword Coast region where the game is set. However, they are hard to miss. These people, who make others look small, carry with them an unmistakable mark of their draconic origins - beautiful colored scales that reveal their parentage.

In the game, Dragonborn are divided into 10 species according to their colors: Black, Blue, Brass, Bronze, Copper, Gold, Green, Red, Silver and White. Each of them has its particularities, such as resistance to specific elements or different breath abilities.

Alongside the imposing and majestic Dragonborn, another impressive addition to the game's various races are the Half-Orcs. creatures of the universe Baldur's Gate 3, they act before they even think, driven by their inner fire. As informed by Larian Studios, this will be the race capable of causing the most damage with the weapons in the game, being able to obtain more data when making critical hits.

Finally, the Dwarves will also be graced with a new subrace: the Duergars. A people accustomed to living deep in the mountains, unfortunately, not much information has been revealed about this addition, but based on the book, we know that the Duergar have access to some spells and psionic abilities. They will also be available when Baldur's Gate 3 is released on August 3.

One of the most fascinating martial classes in D&D will be available at the official release of Baldur's Gate, and the developers promise impeccable work on the animations. Monks, known for often forgoing heavier weapons to fight with their bare fists, will combine quick punches and kicks with clubs or wooden batons, creating a unique fighting style.

According to Run, they are satisfied with the result achieved, as they were inspired by the rulebooks of D&D to create an impressive audiovisual experience, capable of doing justice to the great classics of cinema from Kung Fu.

In-game, the monk class will be properly balanced, unlike in a conventional Tabletop RPG, with adjustments made to ensure that those who choose to play as a monk feel equally powerful in relation to other characters.

Additionally, the class will be accompanied by three path options that the player can choose from to further customize their hero. The first path, called Open Hand, stands out for hand-to-hand combat, using fists to hit opponents in front of you or releasing Ki blows to cause explosions in targets - in the style of Dragon ball

We will also have the Shadow Monks, as stealthy ninjas, able to move unnoticed by the shadows, attacking their enemies and returning safely to the darkness. Finally, the third option will be the Four Elements subclass, in which monks can cast special spells and combine a succession of punches – similar to characters from Avatar.

Whether creating a new character from scratch, however you like, or exploring your journey through Baldur's Gate under the eyes of a vampire or as a mage with gastrointestinal problems, a long-awaited novelty by fans will be back with the full release of the game: the Origin Stories.

As in Divinity original sin 2, players will be able to choose some characters selected by Larian Studios and experience the journey through their unique perspectives, with distinct and exclusive moments for each one of them.

In this way, Astarion, Gale, Shadowheart, Lae'zel and Wyll, companions that players can find in the first act of Baldur's Gate, will also be available with their “origin stories”. In addition, a new addition will be made: Karlach, a tiefling from Avernus - considered hell in the universe of Dungeons & Dragons.

Four other characters will also be able to join your journey through the game: Halsin and Minthara, who also appear during the first act, as well as Jaheira and Minsc, faces beloved by the franchise's oldest fans who will play an important role in Baldur's Gate 3.

And in Larian Studios it also makes it clear that it will be possible to establish a relationship with almost all of them, adding an additional layer of depth and interaction to the bonds between the protagonist and his teammates or simply stoking his conquering side.
