Singing to Rap, Bixby in Portuguese reaches the final version

This Wednesday (19), the Samsung invited the press to an event where he revealed news about the conclusion of the adaptation of the Bixby, a personal assistant that runs on the company's smartphones, to work in Brazilian Portuguese.

Just like every personal device assistant smart, the objective of Bixby is to bring the user and the smartphone closer together with a personalized and smarter interaction. With this, it is possible to manage applications, functions and services in a quick, easy, practical and even comfortable way depending on the situation.

Yoonie Joung, president of Samsung Brazil, commented on the importance of adapting to the Portuguese language, noting that this will facilitate Brazilians' access to connected home integration solutions.

"With the Bixby, it will be possible to control smart TVs and other appliances in an easier and more integrated way. And Samsung gave priority treatment so that Portuguese arrives first in this new wave of languages ​​that are being made available”

The beta version had been released on the 22nd of January, released for Galaxy S10 smartphone users. With this version, they achieved results that reach 98% accuracy, and this gave more clarity to the developers so that the final complete version could be released today with the Portuguese language for some of the company's devices.

“A Bixby adapts to your needs, memorizing your routine, the apps you like, becoming more useful over time”.

To call it, the global pattern that was used before in the English language will still be used, the “Hi Bixby”. But, from there, the commands can be done in Portuguese freely. In addition, the assistant has the intelligence to understand contexts, commands and application integrations as well.

Bixby is constantly developing based on user experience and feedback, because in such a large country, one of the main points is precisely taking into account regionalisms, accents and slang. It is possible to call an Uber, ask for the weather forecast, manage email, change music tracks, set custom alarms, ask for navigation directions, switch your phone's camera to take pictures, and even ask for dinner suggestions.

In addition, it becomes a very useful tool in everyday life. When starting the routine, it is possible to ask the Bixby wake up at a certain time, ask what the temperature of the day is to choose the ideal outfit, ask her to list appointments, look for cafeterias nearby or on the way to work, check new emails, and even end the day asking the assistant to capture a photo in night mode.

There are numerous command options and more than 35 capsules, which represent the services that have been integrated with the personal assistant for ease of use. We have as an example the Google Maps, Youtube, Uber, smartphone settings, contacts, calendar, photo app, among many others.

Thanks to this integration, the Bixby it can also use artificial intelligence to understand your preferences and is able to make automatic adjustments to device settings. With this she can configure apps and even help save battery when needed. And depending on the location Bixby is also capable of creating routines automatically.

And for those who have their home connected with smart devices, it is also possible to control them with ease. You can mute the Smart TV and even activate the cleaning robot.

In the Portuguese version, the assistant has only one voice, the Francisca, which is very light and more natural.

A Bixby will be available to all family S10 (Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10e and Galaxy S10 5G) and Notes 10 (Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+). It is important to point out that the Lite versions of the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy Note 10 are not included in this list.

Samsung also promised that soon, other devices like the new Galaxy S20 family, Galaxy Z Flip and Galaxy Fold will be supported.
