Table of Contents
It is increasingly common to see news sites adopting the paywall, the name given to the requirement to pay a fee or subscription to access its content in full. This is an honest way to support news outlets, after all, which are so dedicated to delivering quality content to their readers.
However, not everyone can afford this, and at the same time needs this information. For this reason, we will now teach you what you can do to bypass the paywall of news sites and access the desired content, with special tools for this purpose. See below:
Remove Paywall

The site Remove Paywall is a quick and practical tool for accessing blocked content. To use it, you copy the link of the blocked news or article with paywall, access the website removepaywall.com, copy the link into the blank field and click the search button. That's it, just wait for the page to load.
You can still make the process easier by installing the Remove Paywall extension for Google Chrome ou Mozilla Firefox.
12ft

Another simple and straightforward way to access paywalled news sites is by using the website 12ft.io. When you access the website, you will see a space to insert the link of the article you want to read. Click on the button next to it, “Remove Paywall”, to be able to see the page, which will then be displayed in full for you. Another way is to type https://12ft.io/<URL> in the navigation bar and change the “ ” by the link of the article in question.
Read this

As with the previous suggestion, the ReadThis.net is a free service that allows you to read content from the internet. It removes the paywall, banners and other website resources, and is designed to provide a good reading experience. You only need to insert the article link with paywall in the indicated space and click on the blue button below, “READ NOW”, and that's it!
Archive Today

The project Archive Today works similarly to the other tools presented. It files pages as if the page were browsed by a search engine and returns a readable version of the page you are trying to view. Another alternative to this resource is its exclusive extension for use in Google Chrome browser — which is kind of hard to find, since Google Chrome often excludes such extensions.
Bypass Paywalls

There is also the Bypass Paywalls, a Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge extension to bypass paywall. But since it is not in any store, you will need to download it from GitHub. Follow the instructions below to use the Bypass Paywalls:
- download this file GitHub ZIP;
- Unzip the file and confirm that there is a folder called “bypass-paywalls-chrome-master”;
- In Chrome or Edge, go to the extensions page (you can also type in the browser chrome://extensions or edge://extensions);
- Activate developer mode — in Chrome it's a button in the upper right corner of the extensions page;
- Drag the bypass-paywalls-chrome-master folder anywhere on the page to import it. Do not delete the folder afterwards.
