O iOS 17, an update to the iPhone system that arrived last Tuesday (19), brought several new features to its users. One of them is the Contact Poster ( Contact Poster, in the original term), new feature that links an image — such as the person's own photo — to their contact card. It is a useful tool for many occasions, especially identifying straight away (literally) who is contacting you or when you contact someone who supports this technology. And today we will teach you how to create your Poster! Let's go?
How to make your Contact Poster
After creating a Contact Poster, by default, when you call someone whose contact information is saved in your address book, this poster will be displayed in full screen instead of the previous thumbnail. Once set up, your chosen contact image and personalized poster will be visible to anyone who has yours. phone number ou Apple ID corresponding. This feature also works integrated with another new feature that came with iOS called NameDrop. Next, our tutorial.
Step 1: Open the application Phone;
Step 2: At the bottom go to Contact Us and then select the option My card, which is right below your name (you can click on your name too);
Step 3: In the upper right corner, select the option Edit;
Step 4: In the middle of the screen, select the option again Edit;
Step 5: Here the button should appear Create new — select it;
Step 6: At this point you will have 4 different options to choose how you want the image on your poster. Camera: take a photo immediately; Photos: choose an image from your gallery; Memoji: use a pre-defined Memoji, one you have already created or create one now; It is Monogram: minimalist style, just the contact's initials highlighted, the contact's name and a background with some gradient color.
While editing your contact poster, you will find a section called “Share automatically“. By default, the setting is set to automatically share your poster with your contacts, but you can change it to “Always ask".
So, even if sharing is restricted to your contacts, each time you make a call, you will have the option to choose whether or not you want the other person to receive your poster. Creating a poster in this interface is similar to the design process for a lock screen in iOS 16. Users can choose an image from their library, preferably vertical images — including those with that blur effect. image overlay in the person's name, which is available to activate or deactivate.
Especially suitable are photos captured on the Portrait Mode, as the phone is able to intelligently distinguish what is in the background, allowing the application of color effects. To explore different filters that separate the object from the image background, simply swipe left or right. By tapping the color wheel located in the bottom right corner, you can select an accent color that you prefer.
To customize the font, color and thickness of the text, just tap your name at the top of the screen. You can use two fingers to zoom in or out on the image, or drag it around the screen. When you are satisfied with the result, tap “Completed” to preview the contact poster, and you will have the option to set this image as the contact's photo.
