The promotion
All the people who choose their favorite movie for the Oscar 2025 have the chance to be drawn to send a video that will be shown at the grand ceremony on March 2. The promotion does not include any payment and whoever sends the video, if chosen among the 20 people, also agrees to give the rights to display it to Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.
Votes for best film can be submitted until 05 am on February 17th via the promotion page. The rules state that, the following day, via the email provided at the time of registration, the winners will be contacted to send a video mentioning their favorite film among those nominated for the 2025 awards.
So, if you want to participate, remember to enter a valid email address that you use on a daily basis, and also keep an eye on your spam folder so you don't miss the opportunity to send your video. It's important to remember that the winners will have less than a week to send their content, as everything still needs to be edited for the ceremony.

Step by step
Step 01: access the official promotion website on your computer or smartphone.
Step 02: fill in the initial fields: first and last name, as well as email. When entering the country, it is important to write the word Brazil, as the site only recognizes country names in English.
As for the state, enter it in Portuguese. In ZIP CODE, enter the ZIP code of the street where you live without the hyphens.
Step 04: Finally, select your favorite movie from the nominees. Remember that this same choice will also determine the video you must send if you are the winner. Here, we choose the movie The In Between (I'm still here).

Step 07: finally, click on Submit to submit your entry. The website states that only one entry per email can be submitted at a time and duplicate entries will not be considered in the final draw.
Remember to update your email and check your spam folder from February 16, 2025 onwards to avoid missing the deadline to submit your video if you are chosen as a winner.
Brazil's bet
The In Between is the adaptation of the autobiographical book by Marcelo Rubens Paiva. starring Fernanda Torres, the drama also features Fernanda Montenegro e Selton Mello in the cast. The direction was in charge of Walter salles, known for his work on the national hit Central do Brasil (1998)
No Oscar 2025, the film is competing for the statuette with three indications: Best movie, Best International Film e Best actress (Fernanda Torres). This is the first time that a Brazilian film has competed in the Best Film category, the main category of the event. In addition, Fernanda Torres joins her mother as the only Brazilian actresses to be nominated in the Best Actress category in the history of the awards.
The film portrays the drama experienced by the Paiva family during the military dictatorship in Brazil in the early 70s. Set in Rio de Janeiro, it follows the daily lives of Rubens Paiva, his wife Eunice and their five children, who live in a house near the beach, always open to friends. However, the family's life changes drastically when Rubens Paiva is taken by plainclothes soldiers and disappears.

When and where to watch the 2025 Oscars
The award of the Oscar 2025 will be held on the day March 2th, 2025, starting at 21 pm (Brasília time), during a ceremony at Dolby Theater in Los Angeles. In Brazil, the event will be broadcast on the subscription channel TNT and the streaming service Max.
A TV Globo is also preparing full coverage on open TV for the whole of Brazil, starting at 21:55 pm. According to information from the journalist Lucas Pasin do Splash Uol, TV Globo has already defined how the dual transmission will be Oscar 2025 and the samba school parades of the Rio de Janeiro Carnival.
The TV station will broadcast the ceremony of Oscar 2025 for all of Brazil, except in Rio de Janeiro, which will continue to broadcast the parades. Those who live outside of Rio de Janeiro will be able to watch the Rio de Janeiro Samba Schools parades after the ceremony that should award The In Between.
