A Tecno is a company famous for manufacturing smartphones that, until now, never reached Brazil. But its new bet is more focused on gamers. O PocketGo has just two items: a controller and an AR glasses that displays the operating system with Windows control, which with a processor manufactured by AMD. Understand its use in practice and when it hits the market. Check the details

Journalists who tested the model at MWC 2024 claim that it is 30% lighter, in addition to the manufacturer mentioning that the model is half the size of the ASUS ROG Ally. The same goes for other portable PC consoles like the Steam Deck, MSI AW1 and Legion Go, from Lenovo. The two parts of the Pocket Go connect via USB-C inputs and there is also an audio output via a 3,5 mm jack.

What most influences the weight is the 50Wh removable battery that the manufacturer guarantees will work for at least two hours. A Tecno It also states that it will be possible to purchase external batteries so that the functions can be used for a whole day.

Screen, or rather glasses

About the glasses, it has two Micro-OLED screens of 0,72 inches each, which are suitable even for those with myopia problems ranging from 0º to 600º. The company refrained from talking about the resolution of the image displayed at 215 inches. They also highlighted that they seek to deliver a smart TV experience.

For this to work, there is an algorithm that makes images 30% clearer and 50% smaller. It displays images as if there were a 215-inch screen 6 feet away from the person.

The AR glasses have support for head tracking, to keep the images fixed while the user moves. Check out the experience using the demo, presented at MWC 2024, where journalists were able to play Cyberpunk 2077 No. Tecno Pocket Go:

6D immersion system

The controls have haptic sensors that adapt depending on the game that runs on the Tecno PC console. The manufacturer also guarantees an immersive audio experience that synchronizes the screen image with the sound, through work done via artificial intelligence.

Another interesting feature is the Hall sensors. To avoid friction between the buttons when gaming, there is a magnetic system that allows this action to be done without the need to press an internal button. Imagine that there will no longer be that small delay between your action and the response of the character on the screen, a complaint from some owners of Nintendo Switch. The immersion system, in total, includes:

  • Vision Trail;
  • Adaptive Posture;
  • Ultra-precise vibrations;
  • Audio vibration enhancement;
  • Sensory Synchronization.

The possibility was raised that the model could also be a work PC that will literally be in your face, as it runs Windows and applications that we know and use in our daily lives.

Connectivity

The device will hit the market with support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 networks, in addition to USB-C inputs and the P2 input for audio present on the control.

A Tecno confirms that it will be possible to connect the devices that it manufactures so that two devices work together, but information has not yet been released whether the PocketGo will work in an integrated way with other devices that run Android or even with the iOS.

More details should be shared when the model finally hits the market.
