E3 2019: New Zelda game, Mario & Sonic and Contra are the highlights of Nintendo

Metroid and Bayonetta fans will have to wait for news, but E3 2019 proved to be a full plate for the Switch

Following the tradition of recent years, the Nintendo presented its releases through the Nintendo Direct. The program was broadcast on the company's official YouTube channels, with the E3 2019 the first with the presence of the new president of the Nintendo of America: Doug Bowser. Despite being short, many titles were announced for the Nintendo Switch, mostly remasters. Check out the main announcements below. Big N.

Banjo & Kazooie and Dragon Quest in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The players of Smash Bros will have even more content in the coming months. THE Nintendo released during the conference the trailer with The Hero, protagonist of the Dragon Quest series. The hero's alternative clothes refer to the different titles of the franchise, bringing a 4 in 1 character. In addition, the definitive edition of the game Dragon Quest 11 comes to Switch on September 27.

But the big surprise was the presence of Banjo & Kazooie. The protagonist duo of the homonymous game belongs to the Rare studio, which was bought by Microsoft. Since the Nintendo 64, fans of the Big N could no longer control these characters on a Nintendo console. The Hero is scheduled to be released during the American summer, between the months of June and August. Already Banjo & Kazooie will be released in the fall, between September and December.

Luigi's Mansion 3

Starring in yet another solo game, the “green mario” will have to hunt new ghosts in Luigi's Masion 3. This time, the player will stop at a haunted hotel full of supernatural creatures. The trailer shows the new functions of the Poltergust 3000, which can now throw enemies from side to side. The new vacuum can also move objects and throw them at ghosts.

Luigi's Mansion 3 also presents the multiplayer, hitherto unheard of in the series. The second player will be able to control Gooigi, a clone made with a type of goo that can pass through gates and spikes, accessing more difficult areas.

In “ScareScraper” mode, up to 8 players can team up to carry out various missions, both online and locally. Modes demonstrated include Time Trials, Toad Hunt and Competitions.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics

Based on the series Netflix “The Enchanted Crystal: The Age of Resistance”, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance Tactics was announced during E3 2019, but does not yet have a release date. However, the series debuts in the catalog of the giant of streaming on the 30th of August. The game is a turn-based tactical RPG, in which the player must control the characters of the series.

The remastered version of Link's Awakening, originally released for Game Boy Color, got a new trailer and release date: September 20th. In the video we can see more functions of the gameplay, and a new mode where the player can build their own dungeon to earn rewards.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Initially launched in 2015, The Witcher 3 It was a public and critical success. For the first time, the hero of the Northern Kingdoms will appear on a Nintendo console. The Switch version will arrive in 2019 with all DLCs.

More Resident Evil

Last month the Switch received the remastered version of Resident Evil Remake, Resident Evil 0 e Resident Evil 4. During Big N's presentation at E3 2019, two more games in the series have been confirmed. Resident Evil 5 and 6 will be released for Switch later this year.

No More Heroes 3

Scheduled for 2020, but still no date set, No More Heroes 3 brings the franchise back after years of not showing up. The latest titles were released for Nintendo Wii and won remastered versions for PlayStation 3.

Contra: Rogue Corps

Another franchise that was resurrected in this E3 2019 é Contra. The game was a huge success at the time of the late Arcades and in nintendo. Now, the game has a revamped look and will be released on September 24. Even today, a pack with 10 games of the franchise will be made available on Nintendo eShop.

The Return of Panzer Dragoon

classic game of Sega Saturn, Panzer Dragoon gets a new version on Switch. The game will be released by the end of 2019, but also does not have a specific date.

Empire of Sin

Set in 1920s Chicago. Empire of Sin is a strategy game reminiscent of gangster movies like “The Godfather”. The game, however, is not exclusive. Versions for the Switch, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 are planned for 2020.

Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo Olympics

Another traditional game from the company released every 4 years. Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games brings together the main heroes, from Sega and Nintendo, competing in different types of sports. The game will be released in November, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is delayed

Since 2012, fans of series Aanimal crossing await a new title in the main series. Previously scheduled for 2019, the new New Horizons has been delayed to March 20, 2020. The announcement trailer shows the game's new setting which now takes place on a deserted island.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild sequel

One of the most acclaimed titles in the Nintendo Switch will get a direct sequel. "Breath of The Wild 2” was announced at E3 2019 with a short video showing the heroes, Zelda and Link, in the tomb of the Evil Ganon. The game is in an early stage of development, so it's likely to take a few years to release.

Spyro Regnited Trilogy Coming to Switch in September

The conference ended with a compilation of games that will be released for the Switch in the coming months, highlights include the remastered trilogy of Spyro (September 3), Dead By Daylight (September 24), Hollow Knight: Silk Song (coming soon), Minecraft Dungeons (2020) My Friend Pedro (June 2020) and Doom Eternal (coming soon).

No Bayonetta or Metroid at E3 2019

Unfortunately the expectations of some were disappointed. That's because it was expected that some details about Bayonetta 3 or Metroid Prime 4 would be revealed. The Japanese producer's games are the most anticipated at the moment and not even a new trailer or demo was made available at the event. That is, the most likely is that the news will only be for next year.
