When you're going to buy a product, it's always good to research the price before closing the deal. And some products are more researched than others, which isn't always a good thing, as you'll see. The price estimation website Fixr.com made a map of the most searched “products” in each country with the formula “How much does [the product] cost in [the country]”.
The results have a little bit of everything. Some products are expected, such as electronics in china or a BMW in Germany. Others are funny, like a cow in india, or one camel in egypt. But most are just bizarre, like fly a MiG in Russia ou slaves in Mauritania – something very problematic. Other islands in the Caribbean have a curious result too: one of them has the term “marriage” as the most searched, the second, “home” and the last, “divorce”. To the Antarctica is on the map, with the price of land being the most researched product in the region.
What about Brazil? prostitutes. Unfortunately, the country's sex tourism is still quite strong.
The search is not an exact result, of course. O Google gives you personalized results based on search history, time and location, and countless other factors measured by the search engine's algorithms. But it is already an indication of how countries are perceived in the network.
