Galaxy XCover7, Samsung's unbreakable smartphone, arrives in Brazil for R$ 2.499

Without much fanfare, the new unbreakable smartphone from Samsung has just been launched in Brazil. This line has been launched since 2011 and, in addition to being highly resistant, it also has a feature in the operating system that protects company data in a separate partition.

Design and canvas

With only one variant in black and an official weight of 240 grams, the Galaxy X Cover7 It has a thickness of 10,2 millimeters. The refresh rate is 120Hz and the model has Gorilla Glass protection to prevent the screen from breaking or cracking in direct impacts.

Resistance

Defined as “Samsung’s unbreakable smartphone”, the Galaxy X Cover7 has military certification MIL-STD-810H, which guarantees use even if the smartphone comes into contact with chemicals. The company also mentions that it will work even if it falls from 1,5 m in height, and it will be possible to use all the features if the user is wearing gloves or even in more humid environments.

Another interesting detail is the IP68 protection, which guarantees the device's operation when immersed in lakes and seas with a depth of 50 meters, for up to 35 minutes. The model also resists dust entry due to this same certification.

Cameras

This is far from the focus of the company's unbreakable smartphone. Samsung, but the company put out an interesting game. At the rear, there is a 50 MP lens with aperture f/1.8 which also records video in 1080p quality at 30 frames per second. The front camera is only 5 MP with aperture f / 2.0, but the resolution of the videos was not reported.

A special feature of this model is that it has a special customizable button, which can open work applications and even read barcodes in just a few seconds. The company also ensures that photos can be shared simply and quickly, in the same way we see on traditional smartphones.

Battery

The device is equipped with a 4050 mAh capacity battery which, oddly enough, is removable. The model can be recharged via USB-C connection, but its Pogos2-type magnetic connector also serves to send energy to the battery.

A Samsung He refrained from talking about the maximum battery life, but it must work for at least 08 hours before asking for it to be plugged back in. The Pogos2 charger must be purchased separately, but in the device box there is a 15W charger and a USB-C cable sent in the box.

Processor and memory

Equipped with processor Mediatek Dimension 6100+, the Galaxy XCover7 should run simpler applications due to its chipset, which is octa-core, reaching a speed of 2.2 GHz. Regarding RAM memory, it has 6 GB and will be released only with 128GB internal storage, without the possibility of inserting SD card.

The device is very similar to the Galaxy A15 in many aspects and, when you look closely, it looks more like a Galaxy A15 with this more robust protection. The main difference is in the battery and rear cameras, but both are very similar.

Samsung Knox Vault Platform

Aimed at the security of sensitive data, the Samsung explained this feature as a true digital safe. The most important files will be saved in a separate partition of the internal storage. This part will only be accessible through identity validation carried out via the PIN previously registered.

A Samsung Knox Vault works in the same way as Secure Folder, launched in 2018. When files and applications are sent there, they cannot be accessed even if the cell phone is connected to a computer. The same happens on Google Photos, with the feature called Locked Folder.

Operating system and connectivity

Available on the Brazilian market from March 04, 2024, the Galaxy X Cover7 will only be sold to companies, through the Samsung Enterprise Portal. The suggested price is R$2.499 and it will not be sold on the general market.
