miHoYo's Kawaii RPG is a game full of exploration possibilities, missions, characters and stories, and it's normal not to know how to proceed when building a good build, raise your adventure rank and assemble a good team. That's why I've put together a detailed guide to help you on this magical journey through the world of Genshin Impact.
You can watch our video on the subject on YouTube, but the full text with extra information is here in the article!
the main plot
Aether e Light are twin brothers who get separated after a terrible battle against a powerful and mysterious being. Right at the beginning, the player will be able to choose which of the brothers to play with, but the story will be the same. Your character falls into Tevat no memories, just knowing you need to find your lost sister or brother.
From there, your adventure begins and all NPCs will call you Traveler (traveller). His mission is to recover lost memories while searching for his family member and acquiring powers to face an unknown purpose. By the way, the traveler is the only character capable of mastering all the elements - we'll talk about them in a moment!
Meet Teyvat
Tevat – as the world of Genshin is called – is a place full of teleport points essential on your adventuring journey, focus on unlocking them between one mission and another, as this will make your life easier in the future.
Exploring the map well, you find nations scattered across Teyvat, each with a very divergent culture and scenarios. Are they: Moon (inspired by Germany), Liyue (China), inazuma (Japan), sumeru (Middle East and India), Snezhnaya (Russia) and others that have not yet been released, such as Fontaine (France) and Nathan.
Genshin Guide: Getting Started
The beginning of the game is very intuitive. You are guided through a series of quests from the game's main story that reward you with blackberry (the game currency), ascension materials e Gems. The first city you have contact with is mondstadt. There you meet the first characters and already unlock some playables through secondary missions, such as Key e , which will be very important for the formation of your first team.
open chests
There are numerous chests scattered across the map, classified into categories: common, sophisticated, valuable e luxurious. Killing enemies unlocks a chest and earns items and EXP for your character.
Elemental Resonance
Genshin's combat system works based on elements called Pyro (fire), Cryo (ice), Hydro (Water), Electro (electricity), anemo (wind), Geo (land) e dendro (nature).
In addition to having their individual mechanics, elements have reactions distinct from each other and can both help and hinder you; so it's good to keep in mind how each one works, as well as its advantages and weaknesses. The game itself presents you with tutorials showing these combinations when you encounter an enemy with a different element.
It is possible to unite two elements to perform attack and defense combos against your enemies. Test character switching during fights and experience the different reactions that elemental resonance can give you!
Positions and combos in the team
In that first moment, you won't have much freedom of choice to assemble your team, since the first characters are pre-established. But it is essential to understand the function of each one to create interesting teams in the future. Like any good RPG, the characters have main functions and work better in certain situations. Here are some clues from your first team. To understand more about characters and their abilities, I recommend the site Genshin Pro.
Key
domineering character of Cryo (ice), Key it is one of the best supports in the game and works very well with characters DPS (focused on dealing damage) of all elements except Geo (Earth). It is a very easy character to use and its only negative point is that it has very low attack damage.
Focus on using it to slow enemies while attacking or combo with a DPS, use and abuse its elemental burst.
Very likely will be your first DPS character, she masters the element Electro and attacks from a distance with its buff. It's a little difficult to learn how to use it correctly, but with practice you'll get the hang of it, focus on area damage and don't get too close to enemies, because at first your dodging won't be good.
comb the element Electro from Lisa with the skills Cryo of Keya and obtain the superconducting effect, effective mainly against elemental Geo. This effect deals area damage. Cryo and reduces the enemy's physical resistance by 50%.
Amber
Like Lisa, Amber is a ranged attack character, her weapon is the bow and she masters the element Pyro (fire). To play well as Amber you need to train your aim a lot and know how to position yourself on the field. She will be the control of your team with the Elemental Skill (E) and, if used correctly, can deal a lot of damage, despite her main function being support.
Try to combine Pyro with anemo to increase the damage capacity of fire.
Traveler (Traveler)
Our main character from Genshin lore, the traveler is often underestimated by more experienced players, however, he has a high offensive capacity and a good DPS if well used. Its main role is support, and at the beginning of the game you will play with the element anemo, great for stunning enemies.
Try combining elements anemo e Pyro to increase area damage capability.
other positions
As I said at the beginning, at this stage we don't have much freedom to assemble teams, but it's good to understand how each position works for when the time comes to shoot banners and continue the story unlocking heroes.
In Genshin there is a difference between bracket e heal. Supports give your team a good base and lift characters DPS, but they do not have healing power, this function is of the healers. Among them we have: Barbara, Bennett, Noelle, Diona, Jean etc. DPS will be your main attacking support followed by sub-DPS.
We still have an unofficial function, called by fans of Battery, characters with energy skills and who manage to fill their and their companions' elemental explosion, great for teams where the main character takes a long time to charge his main skill. Some examples of Battery are: Kujou Sara, Traveler Geo, Bennett, Xingqiu, Keya, Venti etc.
Adventure Rank
At the start of the RPG, you'll be guided through quests until you reach the adventure rank 12 in order to proceed with the story. It is also at this time that the daily quests and quests for the adventurers' guild will be released. Don't forget to do them in between main game missions. So you go up rank faster and gain experience to level up your characters. The higher your adventure rank, the tougher the enemies become, the stronger your warriors are, and the more locations and adventures are unlocked.
In all there are four daily missions available per day.
Don't be afraid of bosses
A great experience to earn rewards, learn more about the combat system and face a much more appealing enemy, the bosses are scattered at specific points on the map and some will only be accessible after the player reaches a certain adventure level and character level.
Flower of Revelation
Scattered across the map, they allow the user to face strong enemies and rescue original resins by completing challenges that aim to rid an area of 'elemental disease', they give 100 EXP, rewards and Mora, the game's currency.
To find them, you need to finish the event Outcrop of the Ley Line. After that, the flowers can be accessed through the map or through the diary, in the Experience tab. Available once a day starting at Rank 8.
Banner
The system banner – also called prayer, allows the player to choose where to focus their roulette wheels Gatcha, used to unlock characters, weapons or artifacts. Each banner or prayer costs an amount of family destination ou Fate Interlaced, items for the sole purpose of being used in this Gatcha obtained when the player ranks up, completes certain tasks in the Adventurer's Guild or that can be bought with gems in the game's special store, Paimon Bargains. I will explain to you what types of banners or prayers are available and how to use them.
Tip: every 10 shots the player guarantees at least one 4 star item or more, every 90 shots, you get a 5 star item. Therefore, bet on banners worth it to you, don't shoot blindly, as some banners have an expiry date. Fans call this system "pity" - it's like the game "pity" you for trying multiple times that guarantees you get the 5-star goal in the end.
Hitchhiker's Summon
This is the standard RPG prayer, it can be opened by spending family destination and has no time limit to perform shots. That banner makes all characters, weapons and non-promotional artifacts available and has constant rotation. For every 10 wishes, you get at least 1 item that is 4 stars or above.
Newbie's Desire
It is also accessed by spending family destination and has no time limit. It is focused on those who have recently arrived in Teyvat. This prayer automatically expires after reaching 20 shots and only certain non-promotional items are available.
Noelle can be obtained once in this prayer, Geo character with functions that vary between Support, Healer or DPS.
recurring prayers
Events of banners of short duration have characters as a promotional focus, usually with a rate of drop augmentation that last a little over a month. Some banners of this type: Moment to Bloom (character: Hutao), Poems in a Cup (character: Venti), Flame Invitation (character: Xiao), The Wisdom of the Moongrass (character: Nahida) etc.
Only shoot these if you really want a specific character, as they cost Fate Interlaced which can be used on other banners.
divine incarnation
Great banner limited time to guarantee good weapons and artifacts with increased drop, costs Intertwined Fate and can guarantee you 4 star characters despite being focused on weapons.
put together good builds
Don't equip your team with random artifacts and weapons, pay attention to the needs of each element and your character's functions, so you guarantee good combos, attacks, increased stamina and elemental resonance. If you follow this quick guide, you'll be on the right track. Remember, it is very important to pay attention to the role that each member plays in the team, assemble builds and teams based on that.
Don't know how to ride good builds? I indicate the site Genshin Pro to guide you on that path.
Tip: Don't level up all the characters, focus on the ones that really make a difference in your fighting style and goals. Consider building teams and builds different for missions and stages of the game, for example, have teams and builds for exploration, dungeons, bosses, maps, etc.
Finally, have fun! Genshin is a game rich in details and experiences, there are countless adventures that you can find while leveling alone or with friends, the main focus is to explore this incredible universe created by miHoYo and fall in love with impeccably designed 3D characters.
