Hands-on: LG G3

It happened yesterday (28/05) in London, the event for the launch of LG's new top-of-the-line smartphone, the LG G3. Photos and information about the device had already been released the day before, still the LG managed to surprise everyone with his new flagship.

Design

Unlike its predecessor, the G3 received a plastic finish that mimics brushed steel, molded in one piece and with the option of opening for battery removal. The material used, when combined with ergonomics on the edges of the device, results in grip and better handling when holding the device with one hand.

The edges of the device have been neatly trimmed, with a micro USB port at the bottom. On the back we find a small audio output. The device weighs around 150 grams and is 8,9 mm thick.

Fabric

The device's screen is 5,5 inches. Quad HD IPS, with the incredible resolution of 2.560 x 1.440 pixels (2K) and 534 ppi. At first glance, there is no superior difference in relation to the Full HD screen of the LG G2. We don't know if the 3.000 mAh battery will be enough to guarantee more than a day of use, due to the screen size and high resolution.

Interface

About the LG G3 kind Android 4.4.2 and improvements implemented by LG, such as the Qslide, and the new possibility to adjust the height of the keyboard. LG's UI underwent a revamp, opting for more mature and less flashy colors, in more pastel and muted tones, in response to criticism that previous UIs bordered on the "childish look". The transition effects are smoother, as are the icons, which have a flatter look and less shading and texture.

O knock on e Knock Code and its 80 thousand combinations are still present, as well as the addition of technology Content Lock, which allows you to lock files, photos, among others.

Camera

The camera G3 remains at 13 megapixels and has laser focus, as found on speed cameras. According to LG, it is possible to focus in 0,2 milliseconds and obtain images with triple light and exposure compensation.

The model should arrive later this week in the Korean market, and in the second half of the year in over 157 operators in different parts of the world. The value of the LG G3 was also not announced by LG.

It's still too early to talk about the G3 compared to its competitors, like, X e HTC M8, however it is undeniable that LG did a great job on this model.
