In an event held in the city of São Paulo, the HUAWEI presented its new headset freebuds 6i, which arrives to update the company's wireless headphone portfolio. Check out details and information about price and availability below.
Design
O freebuds 6i arrives on the market in three colors: black White and a tone of light purple. The model also has IP54 certification, which guarantees the functioning of the new HUAWEI headset if it comes into contact with splashes of water and grains of dust.
The company chose to maintain the same colors as the last generation, launched in 2023. The changes were more internal and the freebuds 5i They even have the same fitting format for those who are used to this type of model.
A HUAWEI mentioned at its launch event that the tips of this new generation were developed to be comfortable in more than 10 ear shapes. It was also announced that the earphone's rubbers, made of liquid silicone, “increase noise cancellation performance, without compromising wearing comfort”.
The headset also supports gesture usage, which allows you to control music and even answer calls. Control can be done by application AI Life, made available to Android e iOS.
Audio
With the dynamic driver of four 11 mm magnets that deliver frequency from 14 Hz to 40 kHz, the HUAWEI promises an improvement in sound power of up to 50%, when compared to the previous generation launched in 2023.
The company also provided support for the technology Hi-Res audio, which allows music and call voices to be heard in high resolution without the need for any additional configuration.
Noise cancellation
The company debuted its new algorithm Intelligent dynamic ANC 3.0 which can cancel up to 27 decibels in relation to the environment in which the person is using the freebuds 6i. When the mode Transparent is activated, the three microphones will be used to capture external sound and merge it with the music or voice of the call, so that intelligent use is made.
Noise cancellation can be used in different environments: on an airplane, by reducing engine noise; in a coffee shop, with the reduction of voices and noise from the coffee machine and even on public transport, with several conversations happening simultaneously.
Connectivity
Regarding connectivity details, it has an antenna Bluetooth 5.3. The headset can connect with up to two devices at the same time, and the Pop Up Pair function — which recognizes the headphones by proximity — is available to anyone who has a HUAWEI smartphone with EMUI 10 or higher.
The new ones freebuds 6i They work with both Android smartphones and devices made by Apple. Windows notebooks and MacBook models can also be connected to the new HUAWEI headset, with no operating system restrictions.
Battery
The new wireless headphones from HUAWEI arrive to deliver by 8 hours of autonomy on a single charge when noise cancellation is off and 5:20 am with the feature activated. Its battery has a capacity of 55 mAh in each earphone, and with the support of the 510 mAh carrying case it will be possible to use it for up to 35 hours.
For comparison, the freebuds 5i It reached a maximum time of up to 28 hours with the support of the carrying case. There was a gain of half an hour in use without noise cancellation: the previous generation delivered an autonomy of 7,5 hours. It remains to be seen how this will happen in practice.
Price and availability
O HUAWEI Freebuds 6i will be launched in Brazil at the end of June 2024 and will compete with the Moto Buds+ and AirPods 2 in the market, but with a more attractive price: it will be sold for the suggested price of R$ 599.
