On Tuesday (3) the Intel invited a group of journalists to attend his stand at Futurecom 2023 and announce its 5G technology laboratory.
A Futurecom takes place from October 3rd to 5th at Sao Paulo Expo and brings together technology companies to present their products, innovations and discuss solutions, this year the Intel presents new features in Artificial Intelligence (AI), 5G, network virtualization, Edge Computing and Cloud, in addition to partnerships with companies and the educational program Intel Skills for Innovation.
Intel Xeon 4th generation
The processor Intel Xeon 4th generation was also presented at the fair, the CPU has accelerators Intel vRAN Boost integrated devices that boost the vRAN (Virtualized Radio Access Network) and the Open vRAN (Open Source Virtualized Radio Access Network) bringing exceptional energy performance to meet the high energy demands of operators.
A vRAN is a virtualization approach in telecommunications that makes the radio access network more flexible and efficient, replacing the need for dedicated hardware to perform network functions. The technology is crucial for 5G networks, which require more capacity, lower latency and energy efficiency.
A Open vRAN It is also a wireless network virtualization approach, but it works in a disaggregated way with components from different suppliers interconnected through open interfaces.
During the visit to Intel demonstrated the Intel Infrastructure Power Manager (IPM), reference software for 5G Core that optimizes power consumption without compromising network performance.
Intel Skills for Innovation
Intel Skills for Innovation is an educational initiative that aims to enable young people and educators to use technology as a way of learning and create innovative experiences through it. The program works in person, hybrid or online and has been helping young Brazilians aged 13 to 19 to develop new skills.
With more than 70 activities and more than 140 hours of content, the teaching plan is segmented by themes ranging from language and humanities to science, technology, engineering and mathematics, always using technology as a base.
The program already exists in more than 30 countries, here in Brazil a Intel partnered with the Regional Center for Industrial Technicians of Bahia (CRT BA) and the Federal Council of Industrial Technicians (CFT). Students also delve deeper into topics such as 3D modeling, Machine Learning (machine learning), Chatbot and augmented reality.
5G Laboratory
Uniting 14 different companies in the technology and communication sector, Intel created a development center that aims to bring solutions to the telecommunications market. With headquarters located in Sorocaba, São Paulo, the partner ecosystem of 5G Laboratory aims to demonstrate a series of open network implementation solutions for business and industrial customers.
The idea is to transform the infrastructure of regional, local and remote data centers, bringing solutions and developing a set of components that work well together, from providing suitable equipment to implementations such as architecture OpenRAN.
In addition to offering a huge range of products and services to customers, the 5G Laboratory aims to accelerate the adoption of 5G and new technologies that allow the advancement of adjacent projects in Industry 4.0, Private Networks, Digital Education, Digital Inclusion, among others.
The companies Ciena, Dell, FIT, Fujitsu, IBM, Intel, Mavenir, Okemo, Ookla, Palo Alto Networks, Red Hat, SIAE, UP2Tech and VIAVI Solutions are part of this partnership.
During the presentations the Intel demonstrated not only an interest but also a concern in making itself available to the technological market in Brazil, bringing new technologies and solutions to our territory that not only help individual consumers, but that can transform and innovate our industry, market and daily life.
