Looking for powerful RAM? We have a recommendation: the XTREEM DDR5. We have already talked a few times about the products of TEAM GROUP here in the showmetech – and it’s time to talk about one more. We analyze the high-speed XTREEM DDR5 RAM memories, launched by T-FORCE Lab, gaming and high-performance division of Taiwanese computer components manufacturer TEAMGROUP. Check it out below.

The design of XTREEM DDR5 RAM memories respects the modern aesthetics offered in the company's products. T-FORCE Lab e TEAM GROUP. These memories are so beautiful they won the award reddot 2024, considered the Oscar of product design. You know those products that you pick up and feel are of extreme quality? That's the case here.

With straight lines, a modern finish and a matte texture, the memories have a minimalist aesthetic, but provide a lot of confidence due to their performance and durability. The touchable surface of the product, in addition to being matte, is anti-acid, alkaline and anti-rust.

His writings inform the model, technology (DDR5) and the manufacturers' logos, T-FORCE and XTREEM. As its own developers describe: “the product has the T-FORCE logo, symbolizing our greatest pride, showing its exceptional existence”.

Built 4,8 cm high and 13,4 cm wide, XTREEM DDR5 memories have a 2 mm aluminum heatsink, enough to cool the memories when necessary, even in overclock.

Regarding the aesthetics of the external part of the memory, the company comments: “inspired by the conversion of energy between hot and cold under high volcanic temperatures, the exterior of the T-FORCE XTREEM DDR5 has sandblasted aluminum fins, reminiscent of the texture of basalt and from the beach.”

T-FORCE Lab's XTREEM DDR5 memories are available in three colors: white, black and pink. Models in white and black colors are available at speeds from 6000 Mhz to 8200 Mhz (technological limit). In pink, the models range from 6000 Mhz to 7600 Mhz.

What is DDR5?

DDR5 is the most up-to-date RAM memory technology on the hardware scene. It is ideal for activities such as games, editing and rendering of videos and 3D animations, running multiple virtual machines, Machine Learning, servers and any other task that requires high data processing.

The memories XTREEM DDR5 are available at speeds between 6000 Mhz and 8200 Mhz. “Mhz” is short for megahertz and means “one million cycles per second”. In this case, it is the unit of measurement used to calculate the speed at which data circulates between RAM memories and other elements of the computer.

The prices of XTREEM DDR5 RAM are considered high, as they have speeds almost four times higher than their predecessor, DDR4, which varies between 2133 Mhz and 4266 Mhz (its limit), without overclocked. However, more RAM results in shorter training times and faster data processing.

The ideal amount of RAM depends on the complexity of the algorithms and the size of the data sets, and it is essential to adjust the RAM capacity to your needs, focusing on performance.

Resources

In addition to the 2mm aluminum heatsinks, which promise to be efficient even in overclock of frequency and speeds, XTREEM DDR5 memories feature:

  • Lifetime warranty;
  • Intel XMP 3.0 support;
  • Own integrated circuit (IC) and semiconductor technology, patented by the manufacturer;
  • Intelligent management of energy consumption, which minimizes noise interference from the electrical network, stabilizes and redistributes loads according to demand;
  • On-die ECC or (ODCCC) incorporated into the memory processor, to correct possible errors before data is written to memory.

Intel XMP 3.0 is a tool that allows you to configure RAM memory to operate at speeds clock faster than the standard frequencies established by JEDEC, especially benefiting intensive tasks such as video editing, 3D rendering and gaming. The ease of activation and increased performance make Intel XMP an attractive option for enthusiasts and professionals looking to get the most out of their RAM. Check if your motherboard is compatible with the technology.

Although overclock Whether it is something commented by the manufacturer itself, this is not a recommended practice for users who seek the durability and longevity of the product, as appropriate settings can compromise the memories.

Economical performance

Who would have thought that we would have 32 GB or 48 GB of RAM running at up to 8200 Mhz in our personal computers, right? In 2024, this is real.

Regarding the amount of memory storage, the company manufactures 16 GB and 24 GB sticks, but recommends that they always be used in dual-channel. In other words, two 16 GB sticks, adding up to 32 GB of RAM, or two 24 GB sticks, adding up to 48 GB of RAM.

To configure memories in dual-channel, install two same or similar sticks on the motherboard, containing the same amount of storage and speeds. If your motherboard has four or more RAM memory slots, the memories must be installed alternately. With the dual-channel activated, the memories use the two available memory channels and not just one, which, in practice, doubles their speed.

And how does it perform in synthetic tests? See below a test run on AIDA64:

Reading112.128
Writing109.225
Copy102.097
Latency55.2

These results are excellent, especially for those looking for good RAM for gaming or video rendering. Among the results, latency stands out, as RAM memories with low latencies are faster, allowing the CPU to access data quickly, resulting in a more responsive system with better performance.
