September 3 marks the 35th anniversary of the Super Mario, the red plumber who revolutionized gaming history. Therefore, Nintendo has prepared a presentation to announce some news for the Switch. Come see with us what happened in this surprise Direct:
Super Mario Game & Watch
For those who remember the Game & Watch, a line of portable consoles that Nintendo produced back in the 80s, good news: a special edition of the small console will be released on November 13, 2020. It will come equipped with Super Mario. bros. original, in addition to Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels and a Mario-themed version of that nice game called Ball.
Super Mario 3D All Stars
There were already rumors about a possible collection of old games from the plumber and his troupe, and they were confirmed in this Direct. Nintendo announced the Super Mario 3D All Stars, a sort of HD Collection of three classic games, optimized and improved for the Nintendo Switch. They are: Super Mario 64, Super Mario Sunshine and Super Mario Galaxy.
Interestingly, the games will go on sale on the Switch store on September 18th, and the sale will end (yes, it's weird to have a deadline, but hey, I don't make the rules here) on March 31, 2021. One nice thing about this release is that players will have access to a library of songs from all three games, and they can leave the soundtracks running on the Switch while they do other things.
Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury
The game Super Mario 3D World of the already forgotten, but always remembered in our hearts, Wii U will also win a version for Switch with local and online multiplayer. In addition, Nintendo bet on new levels for the game and gave them the name of Bowser's fury, so expect a lot of fury from the most beloved boss in games. More details will be revealed soon, but the game's release date is February 12, 2021.
Super Mario Bros. 35
Honestly, it was only a matter of time before Nintendo found a way to introduce the genre battle royale in the lives of your characters. As if a multitude of difficult levels were not enough, a princess who is kidnapped annually and a retirement that never arrives, dear Mario will need a lot of courage in the new battle royale Super Mario Bros. 35.
The game will be a competitive online battle between 35 players (hence the very creative name), in which all defeated enemies will be sent to other players' screens. Needless to say, the last Mario standing wins, right? I don't really know what to expect from this, but from what Nintendo has shown, the game's structure is somewhat reminiscent of the battle royale Tetris 99.
This somewhat curious inclusion will be exclusive to Switch Online members and will be available for a limited time, likely as a trial period.
Super Mario All-Stars
The collection that was originally released for the Super NES and contains the games Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros .: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2 e Super Mario Bros. 3 will be available today for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers!
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit
Dads, get your wallets ready, because now Mario Kart will be a mixture of the virtual and real worlds. The proposal is to make remote control cars equipped with cameras represent the game's karts, while the track will be the player's own home. This very curious mix will be released for Nintendo Switch on October 16th and you can see better how it works in the video at the end of the post.

In addition to the aforementioned game announcements, Nintendo has also shown that various events will take place in various games until March next year. Their theme? Mario, of course. One of the most interesting — and, unfortunately, one of the last, only in March — is the arrival of plumber-themed furniture in the game. Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Sounds like a good excuse to head back to your island and see how the villagers are doing without you. You feel guilty now, huh?
O Super Smash Bros. Ultimate there will be an online tournament using fighters from the games in the series, as well as exclusive items and maps. Fortunately this one comes out a little earlier than the previous event, being scheduled for the end of this year.
Anyway, you can see the entire Direct in the video below and enjoy the news announced.
Earlier this year, a pretty cool review of Paper Mario: Origami King, in case you, dear reader, are interested in more content about young Mario.
