The flagship model in the Philips OLED line for 2024, the OLED+959, incorporates cutting-edge technology to provide an above-average visual experience. Equipped with the processor P5 AI Dual Engine 8th generation and with LG Display's OLED panel, this device promises to reach 3.000 nits of brightness, exceeding some industry expectations.

Although both LG Display and Samsung Display have announced 3.000 nit screens for 2024, the OLED+959 is so far the only smart TV that commits to reaching those numbers. The use of the same panel on the LG G4, for example, does not come with specific brightness promises, and the Samsung S95D, although it uses a 3.000 nit panel, indicates that the TV may not reach that level. Available exclusively in 65 inches, the OLED+959 has versatile mounting options, whether on the wall or on the floor.

Its European design, with a slim profile, offers the TV versatility in being wall mounted ou positioned standing, utilizing its minimalist slate gray aluminum and steel stand. Front, side, and upward-firing speaker boxes are covered in fabric Kvadrat Audiomix, maintaining color uniformity and adding a sophisticated touch to the device’s aesthetics. According to the company, this attention to design not only complements the visual experience, but also reinforces the commitment to European aesthetic excellence.

The technology Ambilight Plus elevates the immersive viewing experience by working with multiple lenses on the individual LEDs arranged on the back. This feature has the ability to create a more dynamic light space, with greater resolution, projecting up to four distinct sides at different depths. This process adds a unique two-dimensional impact to the immersive effect, providing an even more immersive visual experience.

Philips' new P5 AI Dual Engine chip promises to improve image quality by converting 8-bit videos to 14-bit depth levels, especially good for color bands in darker areas. This advance, driven by the algorithm Smart Bit Enhancement V3, aims to improve color gradation in environments with limited color data, as is often the case in streaming.

In the gaming scenario, the OLED+959 supports video games 144 Hz, Dolby Vision and new game bar from Philips TV, allowing quick, personalized adjustments similar to gaming modes from other leading brands like LG, Panasonic and Samsung. The OLED+959 also stands out in the audio department, featuring an integrated 5.1.2 slim speaker system from renowned Bowers & Wilkins. With 18 speaker drivers in total, including front, left and right speakers, and upfiring drivers for Dolby Atmos, this system provides an immersive sound experience, comparable to the configuration found in the Panasonic MZ2000 model.

The slim profile 30 x 55mm drivers are designed to fit elegantly into the OLED's slim frame without compromising the design with extra bulk. Above-average images and sound are delivered from the system Ambilight on four sides. the processor P5 AI 8th Gen enhances the gaming experience with the introduction of the new Game Bar, MEMC functionality and an increase in VRR to 144Hz, which includes support for Dolby Vision game mode.

The functionality MEMC allows players to activate the Soft option in the suite's P5 AI motion processing. This provides smooth movements, now with minimal latency, reduced from 200 ms to 40 ms. This improvement contributes to a more fluid and responsive gaming experience, increasing performance and player satisfaction.
