At an event held in the city of São Paulo, OPPO, a major Chinese smartphone brand that has been gradually entering Brazil, announced its expansion plan for Brazil, which will be carried out in partnership with Magalu and Claro. The company also took advantage of the presence of journalists and influencers to present its new mid-range model, the OPPO A40. See all the details now.
Who is OPPO?
Despite only just arriving in Brazil and having a small presence compared to other brands such as Samsung and Motorola, OPPO is well-known internationally. To give you an idea, the Chinese company is present in more than 70 countries and has partnerships with more than 80 operators worldwide.
Furthermore, OPPO, which is part of the BCG group (which controls realme) has more than 700 million users worldwide and is currently the 9th largest company when we consider the number of registered technology patents. The company is one of the pioneers of the 6G network and also highlights the AI Link Boost technology, which uses artificial intelligence to improve user connections.
Speaking of sales, the Chinese company is the fourth best-selling smartphone brand in the world and, in Latin America, it is currently the fastest growing smartphone brand, with a large presence in Mexico (17% ms) and Colombia (9% ms).
One of the reasons that explains OPPO's great success is that it is actively developing artificial intelligence models for its products, which allows for easy release to its users. It is also worth mentioning that the company carries out more rigorous tests than the industry standard to show the durability of its smartphones and, according to OPPO itself, its highest quality standards are brought to Brazil.
We arrived in the country with the commitment to put the Brazilian user at the center of everything we do. Along with this, we will maintain close collaboration with local partners to make products more accessible and services more humanized. We know that Brazilian consumers deserve and seek better options in the market and we are here to be among the main choices of this public.
Billy Zhang, OPPO Global President of Marketing, Sales and Service
Expansion in Brazil
OPPO arrived in Brazil in May 2024, with the launch of OPPO A58, OPPO A79 and OPPO Reno 11F. To increase its presence here, the brand has strengthened its partnership with Magalu, which is currently the brand's official reseller in Brazil.
Soon, the devices of the OPPO will be sold in more than 1.000 Magazine Luiza stores by the end of 2025, ensuring broad coverage throughout Brazil, with dedicated sales support to provide consumers with the best experience with the brand's devices. The partnership with Magalu will also bring complete integration of online and offline channels, leveraging the company's expertise in the retail segment and its large digital sales platform.
Another partnership announced during the company's event is that OPPO smartphones will be sold in 100% of Claro's physical stores. The company, in partnership with the operator, is also training professionals to offer high-quality sales services in stores. The partnership also includes joint marketing initiatives and a special calendar of promotional campaigns, especially focused on Black Friday.
André Alves, Oppo's executive sales manager in Brazil, explains that, in the next 2 years, the company intends to reach up to 3.000 points of sale throughout Brazil. In addition, 20 service and after-sales centers will be set up to assist buyers of its products. Users will be able to send devices by mail or take them locally, with quick repairs in up to 1 hour. This is the fastest installation of after-sales services that Brazil has ever seen.” says André.

Oppo find x8
OPPO's next photography smartphone to be launched globally, there are still no details about the cameras of this model, but it is known that, like the Oppo Find X7, the lenses were developed in partnership with Hasselblad and it will be possible to use two periscope lenses at the same time. A capture button similar to the one on the iPhone 16 line was also seen in the model.
There will be two variants: the Oppo Find X8 Pro will have a 6,79-inch curved screen and a 5.910 mAh battery, as well as a Mediatek Dimensity 9400 processor with 3-nanometer architecture. The most basic variant will have a 6,59-inch screen, 5.630 mAh battery and Mediatek Dimensity 8400 processor. See details about it below, which also confirms the arrival of MagSafe on Android:
The global launch of the devices is scheduled for November 21, 2024, with sales starting in India. A launch date in Brazil has not yet been announced. We will update the article when this information is released.
