COMPARATIVE REVIEW: LG OLED evo B3, C3 vs. G3

The new smart evo C3 OLED TVs e G3 from LG for 2023 are now on sale in Brazil. The models promise the best screen technology, Dolby audio and video standards, as well as lots of connectivity and a design worthy of a work of art in the room. Lineup and competition

As evo OLEDs from LG are all category models premium. They represent the top of LG's TV lines and are superior to nanocells, also from the company. But, there are subdivisions: it can be said that the LG OLED evo B3 is premium input, the LG OLED evo C3 is premium intermediate, and the LG OLED evo G3 Gallery Edition e LG OLED evo Z3 (not yet released) are the top of the line, with 4K and 8K resolutions respectively.

Design

LG's 3 OLED TV models have no edges and are made with metal sides and base, looking beautiful in any environment. A B3 It comes with a base with cuts on the sides and has a panel with first generation OLED technology:

Rack installation

Screens and sizes

All LG OLED models have 4K resolution. They start in 42 to 87 inches of screen size. In fact, a good tip that we will give in the future is to compare the screen size with the price of the TV, when purchasing, to choose the TV that is most compatible with your living room or bedroom (wait for the table at the end of this review - comparative).

With pure blacks, even more intense brightness and vivid colors, the B3, C3 and G3 They are among the best screens with OLED technology (more precisely WOLED) available in Brazil. The quality of the display is slightly higher than that of its OLED competitor. Samsung (S90C).

Processor

But it could have fewer buttons and a design more compatible with the industrial style of TVs.

IOT and Personal Assistants

Both B3, as for C3 e G3 are integrated with the platform LG ThinQ, meaning they can control other devices in the connected home, such as air conditioning, lights and smart curtains.

This year, the lines also gain support for the new Google's Matter protocol, which will facilitate integration with even more devices from other brands.

And there is support for the assistant Alexa from Amazon. This means that you will be able to give voice commands to activate TV features, without leaving the couch.

LG ThinQ app

Before even turning on the TV for the first time, we recommend that you install it on your iPhone or smartphone Android the app LG ThinQ. It facilitates the initial installation configuration and will later allow you to control your TVs and other electronics in the house using your cell phone.

Perhaps this is the weakest point of LG's screens, compared to Samsung's, which uses a Tizen interface, and TCL's, which have the spectacular Android TV integrated.

But the good news is that all streaming apps are supported here, including Netflix, Globoplay, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, HBO Max, Paramount+, Star+, Disney+ and others.

Settings Menu

The menus, which appear when you click the controller's settings button, have been optimized to show more information in less space. The change is great and helps you quickly understand how audio, video, game optimizer and other functions are configured. The visual presentation of these menus has also improved a lot, making it easier to understand what you want to find.

Conclusion

If you have come to this conclusion, you will notice that choosing an LG OLED from the 2023 line is more a matter of size vs. price, rather than doubt about the quality of one or another display. They are all excellent smart TVs, with the best screen technology (OLED), even in the most basic B3. C3 e G3 stand out a little more, as they gain more shine, a turbocharged processor and an audio and video input kit with the maximum current resources.

The smart TV LG OLED-B3 ends up being the option for those who want at least 55 inches of screen, but want to save on the purchase, as it is the cheapest for this screen size, costing R$ 6.799,00.

The smart TV LG OLED evo C3 is the most eclectic in terms of sizes and prices, being the only option in smaller (42″ and 48″) or larger (77″ and 83″) sizes. It would be the best representation of cost-benefit and the most recommended for general use and gamers, with prices starting at R$ 5.683,00, interestingly on the 48″ screen, which is cheaper than the 42″.

And the smart TV LG OLED evo G3 Gallery Edition This is a recommendation for those who don't care so much about the cost of the canvas and want more to ensure that it will be the work of art in the room, attached to the wall in an elegant and discreet way.
