With a small interactive screen and the possibility of future upgrades, Positivo's notebook delivers good performance for an entry-level model. Find out what we think.

Launched in Brazil in October of this year, the Positive Vision R15M It's a reinterpretation. Vision R15 The 2024 model differs only in having a small interactive screen. This entry-level model can be found for around R$3 and stands out for its interesting performance and upgrade potential. See our review:

    Design

Developed with a black plastic casing, the design of Positive Vision R15M It's quite simple. There's a more traditional plastic with a weaker structure, so much so that even when you press on the back, you can almost touch the fans. Its cover, despite having a coating for added durability, isn't matte, which allows fingerprints to show through.

The model weighs 1,75kg, a common weight for models with 15″ screens, and can easily be placed in a backpack for transport. It is 19,6 mm thick and can be carried with one hand, but I recommend using a briefcase or backpack, as despite its lightness, your hand may tire after a while.

Despite the simpler casing, it's nothing out of the ordinary for this category. This is because companies that choose to sell more affordable products tend to invest more in internal components than in the external structure. So far, no surprises.

    Fabric

With a display of 15,6″ IPS LCD typethe screen of this notebook Impact It surprises with its good quality, even though it's still part of the entry-level category. In covered environments, the light tones appear quite vibrant; while in darker environments, the peak brightness of 300 nits, although not high, can also help to see the information without problems.

The screen still has a 60Hz refresh rate, standard for models in this category, and also the same specifications as... Vision R15 from last year. The resolution also remains: he delivers FHD resolution (1920×1080)reasonable for models at this price.

The screen present in Positive Vision R15M It doesn't disappoint even if you're looking at it from different angles; since 90% of high-quality content is now in this resolution, the experience here is interesting precisely if you don't expect too much.

    Mini Interactive Screen

    (Photo: Reproduction/Positivo)

A major difference compared to Positive Vision R15 from last year, the mini screen (the M of R15MIt was sold as a tool that provides users with a broader perspective. Despite a minor issue that required me to format the drive we received for it to function properly, the idea is interesting, but it could have been better utilized.

The idea, in theory, is interesting: you can connect your WhatsApp to receive notifications directly on the mini screen and thus open the app to respond. It is also possible to view information from Weather (in a personalized way, after you type in your city), quick reminders, energy and connectivity data, view animated GIFs and also up to 3 photos of whomever/whatever you want.

Moving on to practical use, connect the WhatsApp Seeing new messages on the mini-screen seems more like a way for you to view another notification, since we also have a notification on the desktop. If you have notifications from the app... WhatsApp With devices disabled (like mine), using the mini-screen might be interesting, but I also feel it would be more useful to navigate chats or for that small interactive display to have touchscreen support. The screen is interactive, but not that much.

The weather information can be viewed online, and I don't find it as interesting as the company claims; the notes can replace the famous post-it notes, but the small space only allows for a few notes; as for the energy data, well, that's displayed on the screen, so I don't see the point in showing it on a smaller display.

So all that was left was sending your own media to that interactive mini-screen. The idea is also cool, and you can see photos of who/what you like, like a small photo frame; but the Impact It falls short in the GIFs section, which, besides a collection featuring the Curitiba-based artist Tom Veiga, shows other very generic GIFs, without the option to upload your own.

The current features can make a difference in some people's daily lives, but it would be interesting, for example, if more information were displayed, such as an AI-generated summary of information, or performance data like real-time RAM/processor usage. Perhaps an update will bring more features.

The truth is that most of the time, your hand will end up covering the small interactive screen. You can see a slight inspiration from the old one. Touch bar of Macbooks, but with much less practical use. What remains is the hope of Impact to bring more features, as this is far from being a major differentiator.

    Keyboard

Keyboard for the Positivo Vision R15M
The keyboard on the Positivo Vision R15M is spacious (Photo: Press Release/Positivo)

Regarding the keyboard, it follows the standard. ABNT2...requiring the use of some shortcuts to use certain punctuation marks. Another common pattern in notebooks manufactured in Brazil, so no surprises. Despite this, we also have the key... Copilot to activate the artificial intelligence of Windows Whenever you want. As is standard for this category, the keyboard here is not backlit.

The touchpad is also quite large, and as someone with slightly larger hands, I was able to work with it all day, experiencing a feel similar to using a mouse. And my tip: activate the three- or four-finger gestures for an even more productive day.

Copilot keys and mini screen of the Positivo Vision R15M.
    (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

Opening a paragraph just for this, and as someone who doesn't usually use the... Windows Copilot In everyday use, this key has been more of a hindrance than a help. As a writer who needs comfort and to make as few mistakes as possible when typing, there were times when I ended up pressing the Copilot key instead of the spacebar. And this is the new standard for notebooks with... WindowsSo we have nowhere to run (but at least it will be ready when you want to use it).

Finally, it's worth highlighting the numeric keypad, which is always available for use, whether for typing passwords or other tasks. The notebook doesn't have a fingerprint reader, so opting for a PIN is worthwhile. I would easily add a reader to the key that opens the Center Positivo app, but understanding the product's positioning, we know that the user doesn't expect that from a device at this price.

    Audio

    (Photo: Disclosure/Positivo)

The audio from the notebook Positive Vision R15M It's designed for everyday functionality, performing well for video calls, studying, and casual videos. It features high-definition stereo speakers that prioritize voice clarity, although the maximum volume isn't very high and the bass is subtle, which is common in models of this category. Since the speakers are located on the bottom, it's best used on hard surfaces to prevent muffled audio.

One positive point is that the device doesn't rely solely on the native sound; it includes a 3,5 mm combo input, allowing you to easily connect headphones or external microphones. In addition to this physical connection, the Vision R15M Bluetooth 5.2This ensures stability and low latency for those who prefer to use wireless headphones or external speakers for a more immersive movie and music experience.

    Processor

Although it's still in the entry-level category, its chip was a pleasant surprise. AMD Ryzen 5-5625U positions the Positive Vision R15M as a highly efficient device, balancing multitasking power with low energy consumption through its architecture. Zen 3. With 6 cores and 12 threadsThis processor offers a solid foundation for advanced productivity, overcoming common bottlenecks in entry-level laptops.

An important technical detail is that, although it's marketed as a "5th Generation" Ryzen processor, it's much more modern than the Ryzen 5000 "LU" series (like the 5500U). The end 5625U This indicates that it uses more refined cores, delivering higher speed per cycle. In short, it's a robust engine for a notebook of this size, ensuring that the operating system... Windows 11 Drive smoothly for a long time.

This model is Recommended for university students, freelancers, and users looking for a "first serious notebook".capable of navigating between heavy studying, browsing with multiple tabs, and casual leisure.

    GPU

    (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

The integrated GPU of the AMD Ryzen 5-5625U, known as AMD Radeon Graphics (Vega 7)It operates in a shared manner with the system's RAM. In a technical analysis, this GPU stands out for its efficiency in decoding high-resolution (4K) videos and for its support of hardware acceleration technologies that make browsing in Windows and web browsers much smoother, preventing crashes when loading heavy graphical interfaces or multimedia content.

In the context of graphics applications and games, the Radeon The integrated graphics deliver honest performance for titles that utilize modern APIs like DirectX 12 and Vulkan. For those who work with photo editing... Photoshop Whether for simple video editing for social media, it offers the necessary resources for renderings that aren't overly complex.

In gaming, the focus is on stability: by prioritizing low power consumption, it can maintain consistent frame rates in light games and esports, as long as the user adjusts the settings to performance mode, making this notebook a versatile solution for those who need a work device that also supports casual leisure time.

In terms of entertainment, its integrated GPU Radeon Graphics allows the execution of competitive titles with specific adjustments: in Fortnitethe hardware supports between 45 to 60 FPS in 720p or 1080p resolution under "Performance Mode", while games such as Valorant, CS2 e League of Legends They offer superior fluidity due to better optimization for integrated chips.

    Memory and storage

Memory and storage data for the Vision R15N notebook.
    (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

In addition to its good processor, what also contributes to the notebook's good performance are the... 16 GB of RAM Installed, which is unusual for entry-level models. This can be expanded up to 64 GB, giving you even more performance, so in the future, the model's durability may even increase.

In terms of storage, there is a 512 GB M.2 NVMe SSD With a read speed of 2500 Mbps, you don't have to worry about deleting apps/photos/videos for a considerable amount of time before needing to upgrade. The same SSD slot supports up to 4 TB.

If you need a laptop for work or study and also want to have fun, the memory and storage capacity will be sufficient for a good while. And, when you feel the need to upgrade, simply buy the components and make the replacements.

    Webcam

    (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

The webcam of Positive Vision R15M It was designed with a clear focus on functionality for hybrid work and remote learning. When used under conditions of favorable lightingShe is able to deliver sharp images with balanced colors, ensuring a good presentation in meetings and classes. See a photo:

The key difference with this model is the technology. Lumina Bar, which consists of two LED bars integrated into the sides of the screen; this feature acts as a fill light, allowing video calls to be made even in low-light environments, compensating for unwanted shadows and improving the visibility of the user's face.

However, it's important to align expectations regarding the versatile use of this camera. Although the performance in video calls are as expected For this category, while maintaining the necessary fluidity for real-time communication, the quality drops considerably when the sensor is used to capture still photos.

Photographs taken with the webcam tend to have digital noise and lower definition than videos, reinforcing the fact that the optical system was specifically optimized for video transmission and not for photography.

    System and Apps

Operating system data for the Positivo Vision R15M notebook.
    (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

compared to Lenovo, Samsung e ASUS, Impact It falls a little short when it comes to delivering a personalized experience that makes customers feel "welcome." Let me explain: despite the key to open the Positive Control CenterThe app primarily serves as a mirror of Windows Settings, even though it allows for customized power management.

    Positive control center
    (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

The same application also allows you to perform a driver diagnostic to check if everything is in order. Although it seems useful, it was an application I only opened once during about 15 days of use. For those who like to have alternatives, the notebook is sold with both Windows 11, how much with Linux.

Capitalizing on the AI boom, the company also offers MIA (short for My Artificial Intelligence). It provides intelligent answers, website suggestions, and summaries of news or documents. It's ideal for those who need quick answers to their questions or to find specific files and applications on their computer, with local processing and, in some cases like file searching, even working offline.

    Connectivity

    (Photo: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

O Positive Vision R15M It features robust and up-to-date wireless connectivity that meets modern standards. Equipped with Wi-Fi 5The device supports 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies, ensuring both greater range and higher speeds for 4K streaming and fast browsing, adapting well to different home or office environments.

In terms of peripherals, the highlight is... Bluetooth 5.2This version offers an extremely stable and efficient connection. It's ideal for use with wireless headphones and mice, as it drastically reduces latency and power consumption. In practice, this allows you to connect high-quality external accessories to compensate for the native audio, keeping your laptop battery longer.

    Doors

Ports on the Positivo Vision R15M notebook
    (Photo: Disclosure/Positivo)

In terms of physical doors, the Positive Vision R15M It's also very comprehensive:

    • 1x P2 type input that can be used for audio and microphone
    • 2x USB 3.2 (type A)
    • 1x USB-C with Thunderbolt 5 support and transfer speeds up to 5Gbps
    • 1x HDMI 2.0
    • 1x SD card slot

Having more than one USB-A port is essential for those who use a mouse/headphones with an adapter, and when you need to connect a flash drive or cable with two USB-C ports, you don't have to stop using the main device for a short time.

    Battery

Battery data for the Positivo Vision R15M notebook.
    (Screenshot: Victor Pacheco/Showmetech)

Battery life was another factor that impressed me in a model costing around R$3. Equipped with a 55Wh battery, the notebook managed to stay active for about 3 hours on a single charge, even with power saving mode activated. The manufacturer indicates that it can last up to 8 hours, considering that it will be used with Wi-Fi disabled and only video playback.

Your charger needed 01 hours 45/XNUMX To recharge the battery from 0% to 100%, it's also within the range for models in this price bracket. It's not yet the battery life of processors with AI processors, which consume less energy, but it's enough to work/study for a few hours before needing to find a power outlet.

    Conclusion

Review: The Positivo Vision R15M notebook delivers good hardware at a fair price. With a small interactive screen and the possibility of future upgrades, this Positivo notebook delivers good performance for an entry-level model. Find out what we think.
    (Photo: Disclosure/Positivo)

O Positive Vision R15M It is a device that demonstrates a clear attempt by the brand to innovate by introducing... interactive mini-screenHowever, in practice, the lack of deeper features or functionalities that truly transform the workflow means that this feature does not become a significant competitive advantage.

When comparing this release with the 2024 model (Vision R15), which doesn't have the secondary screen but maintains exactly the same technical configuration, it becomes clear that, since both tend to be in the same price range, the mini-screen ends up being just an "extra" that shouldn't be the crucial factor in the purchase decision, but it will be nice to have and may even be useful for someone.

When comparing the Positive Vision R15M to Lenovo IdeaPad 3 (82MF000ABR)It is clear that the Positivo model has an advantage in display components and battery life, while the Lenovo It focuses on a lightweight construction and Premium Care support.

The IdeaPad 3 uses the processor Ryzen 5 5500U (slightly inferior to the Positivo 5625U) and features a screen Full HD with TN panelwhich exhibits color distortion at different angles, unlike the screen. IPS do Vision R15M, which maintains image fidelity.

Furthermore, the Impact offers a battery of 55Wh against the 38Wh from Lenovo, and a much higher RAM expansion capacity (up to 64GB against the 12GB or 20GB (limited features of the IdeaPad, which has part of its memory soldered). Thus, although the Lenovo whether it is a product from a globally established brand, the Vision R15M It delivers a more robust and flexible hardware package for those seeking longevity and visual quality within the same price range.

Although the visual innovation may go unnoticed, the Impact They got it right in building this hardware. By equipping the notebook with the processor AMD Ryzen 5-5625UWith its genuinely powerful performance for its category, and a balanced memory and storage configuration with high upgrade capacity, the brand delivers a robust and fast product.
