An interesting feature of the Philips Hue line is the possibility of synchronizing the intensity and colors of the lights according to the content being shown on the TV — a very desirable feature if the LED bars are installed close to the screen, emulating the effect of the Ambilight line of TVs by Phillips.

For the LED bars to work together with the television, one more device is needed, the Philips Hue Play HDMI Sync Box, which is not officially sold by Philips in Brazil. It links the fixtures on the television set so that they work simultaneously.

Create an immersive media experience through the Philips Hue Play HDMI sync box, making your lights dance, blink, dim and glow in sync with videos, games and music.

Tests

the kit bars Philips Hue Play Light Bar tested on the workbench and in the living room. In the first scenario I recreated a modern and relaxed atmosphere using the Hue Bridge, synchronizing the fixtures on the computer with a playlist that I left playing during work.

The second test was carried out in the living room at home, but unfortunately I didn't receive the device that connects the smart light to the TV, so I used it to create different and colorful environments. I was surprised not only at how the bars totally changed the room, but also at the reach of the Hue Bridge, which, even far away, allowed me to play a lot. Check out the images below.

Verdict

of all accessories Philips Hue that we received, this was one of the ones I liked the most. The lights are very intense, even without an app or additional device and the setting that the kit Philips Hue Play Light Bar creates is very nice. The LEDs hardly get hot, and the only downsides I found were the short cables and the need for so many additional appliances to utilize these smart light fixtures to their full potential.
