After presenting the models in the CES 2024 and leave that taste of “I want more”, the Samsung finally launched its AI TVs in Brazil during an event held in the city of São Paulo for journalists and influencers. As the name suggests, the models stand out for having artificial intelligence that improve the visual and sound experience, as well as improving the security of connected devices. Understand the details right now.
New AI TV concept
Starting with the concept of AI TV, Samsung coined this term to bring together all the artificial intelligence functions present in its models into a single group. This includes technologies that improve image, sound, energy savings, connectivity and even the security of your personal data.
And it all works thanks to TV processors, like NQ8 AI Gen3 of the new Neo-QLED 8K, which uses up to 512 neural networks to compare the image and sound of what you are watching with the TV's internal database, and thus know how to improve this content.
This allows the TV to correct colors, contrast and brightness, and even “upgrade” a film or series with low resolution, to make it look like 4K or even 8K.
Key Features
All models of AI TVs da Samsung stand out for its artificial intelligence which can be seen in practice, at different times when using smart TV. This not only talks about the good image delivery that the company already delivered in its previous products, but other additional features. Discover each of them below.
AI Upscaling Pro
Imagine you want to watch a movie, but it only exists in Full HD or 4K? Everything will look strange on a higher resolution screen, right?
Not in the case of AI TVs. Using a technology called AI Upscaling Pro, the TV can use those neural networks that I mentioned before to transform this low-resolution content into a 4K film or series, in the case of models OLED e NeoQLED, or even in 8K, in Neo-QLED 8K.
The TV's processor does the job and will make you think that even old films were made for this new TV.
AI Motion Enhancer Pro
Another feature that improves the image is the AI Motion Enhancer Pro, which understands the movements of images — especially in races and sports matches — to remove shadows, trails and other image defects common on other TVs.
In practice, what is being transmitted on the screen will be read so that possible errors can be corrected in milliseconds. This is done automatically, by the processor that has the capacity to identify and carry out the improvement work.
Real Depth Enhancer Pro
And, giving the last touch to have that perfect image, there is the Real Depth Enhancer Pro, technology that separates the background of the image from the objects that appear in the foreground, to give that more refined 3D sensation.
Another way to explain this technology is to imagine the famous portrait mode on smartphones and notebooks, when the backgrounds are blurred. This will be seen on screens up to 85 inches, provided by an area of the processor focused on artificial intelligence.
Dolby Atmos
Now moving on to the field of audio improvements, the AI TVs have support for Dolby Atmos, a quality standard that simulates a more realistic and immersive sound. This makes the sound seem like it's coming from all directions, even if you don't have extra speakers scattered around the room.
Active Voice Amplifier Pro
The smart TV also improves the voices of actors or presenters with the Active Voice Amplifier Pro, separating them from the ambient sound and background music of the film or series, giving more clarity so you don't get that feeling that you couldn't hear the dialogue.
Sound Sync
And closing the audio resources, you have the Sound Sync.
In the past, anyone who had a soundbar would turn off the sound on the TV and only leave this external speaker working. But with the Sound Sync da Samsung, you can add the smart TV speakers with the soundbar speakers and have an even more powerful set.
Closing our image and sound topic, now it's time to talk about smart House.
Smart Home with 3D Map View
The new interface of AI TVs allows you to view and control devices connected to the platform Samsung SmartThings, all in a simple and practical way, directly on the screen.
And the coolest thing is that now she has the 3D MapView, or 3D house map view. With this new feature, you can create a map of your home on the TV to understand where your electronics are and what to do with them.
You can do this by easily drawing the map directly on your cell phone. But if you have the CAD file with the floor plan of your apartment or house, just upload it to 3D MapView It creates the 3D version for you.
With everything configured, you will be able to control all Samsung products in your connected home via your TV or cell phone, as well as compatible third-party devices, such as lamps, locks, intercoms and other automation and smart home products.
AI Energy Mode
But, with so much electronics at home nowadays, knowing how to save energy is essential, right? And that's where the AI Energy Mode.
For smart TVs, this technology analyzes ambient lighting and, when necessary, reduces light emission from the screen to save energy. The TV can save up to 25% of energy per month with this.
And for other devices connected to the Samsung SmartThings, AI Energy Mode controls the energy consumption of each of them, in kWh, to tell you how much you are using and what you can do to save.
Knox Security
Now, speaking of security, you know that AI TVs also have Knox Security da Samsung. This is the name of the security features that the company incorporates into its products, to prevent hacker invasions or unauthorized access, protecting both the TV and any device connected to it. Your data is truly safe.
2024 line of smart TVs with AI
AI TV Neo QLED 8K (QN900D)
The first of them, the Neo-QLED 8K (QN900D), is the top of the line. 8K means it has 4 times more resolution than a 4K TV.
And it also improves any content to reach this resolution, as I already explained here in the video, so you don't have to worry about knowing whether your favorite movie was recorded in 8K or not, okay? It will be beautiful!
AI TV Neo QLED 4K (QN85D)
Considered the entry model among all the models presented today, the Neo QLED 4K (QN85D) hits the market in sizes of 55, 65, 75 and 85 inches, with 4K resolution. The panel type is QLED mini LED, which, according to Samsung, replaces each conventional LED with 40 Samsung-exclusive mini LEDs. This makes brightness control more refined and provides better contrast in the image.
Its design has even thinner edges and looks as if it were floating on top of the base. And it is part of Samsung's line of Big TVs, with very high quality screens, ranging from 65 to 85 inches.
If you are a person who likes to play, the QN85D arrives on the market with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz and an artificial intelligence feature that recognizes the type of game and adapts the screen settings for a better gaming experience. The player can also choose the screen aspect ratio (between 21:9 or 32:9) and has access to a special menu that shows input lag, FPS, HDR and more.
The company also highlights this model's quantum dot technology, which allows users to watch content with 100% color volume in 4K resolution, through PANTONE certification. The image and sound improvement work is done by the NQ4 AI Gen 2 processor, which has 20 neural networks.
Finally, in addition to allowing you to access games from the Xbox Game Pass catalog (but you will still need to subscribe separately), you will be able to have a good update rate and response time due to technology support AMD FreeSync.
AI TV Neo QLED 4K (QN90D)
In addition to the QN85D, Samsung also brought the NeoQLED QN90D, a 4K TV that is sold in sizes of 43 and 50 inches, in addition to having access to gaming hub, Samsung TV feature that lets you play your favorite game with a joystick on the TV without needing a console.
Its refresh rate, important information for a gamer, is 144 Hz. And it has the technology Neo Quantum HDR, which enriches colors and enhances the visual details of the image. And if the film or series is in lower resolution, that's no problem. She also does the Upscaling to 4K.
AI TV OLED 4K (S95D)
And today's fourth and final recommendation is OLED S95D. As the name suggests, it differs from the previous ones by having a display with technology QD OLED, great for colors and strong contrasts, which also has anti-reflective technology.
The cool thing about this is that the OLED S95D is the best suggestion if you have a room with many windows and want to ensure that this natural lighting does not affect the image. We were at this year's CES, the biggest technology fair in the world, and this anti-reflective technology was one of the things that impressed us the most there.
Speaking of sizes, this TV is for all tastes and rooms, with screens ranging from 55 to 77 inches.
And the design is also a highlight here, as this TV only has 11 mm thick, almost as thin as a cell phone! This AI TV is also accompanied by One Connect box, a discreet box that organizes cables and centralizes connections for HDMI devices, such as game consoles, soundbars and others.
