The invitation sent to the international press hints that the star of the show will be a tablet, not a smartphone.

Many expect the Galaxy S8 be shown in MWC 2017, but apparently this will not happen. THE Samsung sent invitations to a press conference on February 26, the day before the fair started. The invitation, however, hints that the star of the show will be a tablet, not a smartphone:

According to BGR, the CEO of Samsung's mobile division confirmed that the Galaxy S8 won't really be announced at the fair. The previous models, Galaxy S6 e Galaxy S7, came to the world at MWC, but Samsung is taking all possible security measures. The objective is to avoid a disaster as happened with the Galaxy Note7, who had the cause of the problems revealed.

According to Benjamin Geskin, the flagship will be announced at Unpacked 2017, scheduled for March 29.

Galaxy Tab S3

What to expect from Samsung on February 26th? Probably the Galaxy Tab S3, the company's line of top-of-the-line tablets with Super AMOLED. That doesn't rule out the possibility that Samsung will at least show the Galaxy S8. But the official announcement will take place at the end of March. Still according to BGR, reports indicate that the Unpacked 2017 will take place on March 29, with the official launch taking place in April.
