In celebration of their 25 years, R, one of the main critical references for movies e series, invited critics to submit their lists of the best films released in the last two and a half decades. The selection of the most voted films ranges from timeless classics to groundbreaking technical achievements. The list includes winners of renowned awards such as Parasite e Mad Max: Fury Road. Portrait of a young woman on fire is an historical drama written and directed by Céline Sciamma. The cast is made up of Noemie Merlant e Adèle Haenel. At the 2019 Cannes Film Festival, the film was selected to compete for the palm d'or. During the same ceremony, he won the Queer Palm, becoming the first production directed by a woman to receive this award. In terms of box office, the film reached the mark of 3,1 million U.S. $ worldwide.

Synopsis: Set in 18th-century France, the film follows the story of Marianne, a young painter who is tasked with painting a portrait of Héloïse for her wedding, without her knowing. To accomplish this task, Marianne spends her days observing Héloïse and her nights painting, but as time passes, she finds herself growing closer to her model.

Synopsis: The film follows the story of Rita, a woman who loses her memory after an accident on Mulholland Drive in Los Angeles. She takes refuge in a residential building, where she meets Betty, a young actress who has recently arrived in the city. Together, the two try to uncover Rita's true identity.

A huge success with critics and audiences, the film grossed 258,7 million U.S. $ at the worldwide box office.

Synopsis: The film portrays the drama of Ki-taek's family, all unemployed and living in a cramped, dirty basement. When the opportunity arises to teach English to a young woman from a wealthy family, Ki-taek finds himself enchanted by the luxury and comfort that surrounds him.
