All about BGS 2025: how to get there, attractions, and tips for enjoying the event

An annual gathering of game fans and developers of famous titles, the Brazil Game Show It takes place, as it does every year, in the second week of October and is expected to feature several attractions for gamers. What is BGS 2025?

Acronym for Brazil Game Show, BGS is the annual gaming event that always takes place in the city of São Paulo. In addition to brands offering trial versions of their games, several companies sell accessories such as headphones, posters, keyboards, mice, and other peripherals at the fair. Additionally, new products for the gaming world may be presented for the first time at the event, including new monitors and technologies aimed at improving gaming experiences.

Another important part of the BGS is made up of cosplays: fans of all kinds of franchises prepare every year to participate in the fair and, in fact, a big championship is organized to award the best costumes.

The year 2025 marks the 16th edition of the event, which has welcomed more than 3 million visitors throughout its history. The idea began in 2009, as Rio Game Show, in the capital of Rio de Janeiro, and since then has helped the gaming industry grow even more.

Every year, companies like Capcom, Sega, PlayStation, LG, Dell and others set up stands with their main launches. The BGS 2025 was defined by the organizers as “the biggest in history”, with around 400 stands, more than 3.000 influencers, championships eSports, themed areas, hundreds of new releases, attractions and much more.

How to get to the location

After five years in Expo Center North, Brazil Game Show will be held in 2025 in Anhembi District, still in the north of São Paulo, more specifically in Olavo Fontoura Ave, 1209 – SantanaTo get to the gaming event, it's best to take public transportation, as the closest stations are on the Blue Line subway. If you choose to take the subway, remember to buy round-trip tickets to avoid lines and get home as quickly as possible. In addition to the ticket booths and self-service machines available at the stations, we recommend using the app. TOP (available to Android e iOS) for the purchase of QR codes, with payment being made via Pix. Every year, a free bus provided by the BGS organizers is available to visitors, taking them to and from the Anhembi District. In previous years, transportation departed from Marshal Odylio Denys Street, near the station Portuguesa-Tietê from the subway. For those who prefer to use Uber/99 to get to the game fair, the organizers recommend using Professor Milton Rodrigues Street to board and disembark by taxi or ride-hailing service. Remember to plan ahead so you don't have to wait too long for your ride.

For those who prefer to go by bus, the option 9717-10:  Santana / JD. Almanara, that passes in front of the station Carandiru of the subway (also on the blue line), is the most recommended. When taking the bus, there are nine stops to the nearest stop Anhembi District and as soon as you get off at Av. Olavo Fontoura, 1300, you just need to walk to the BGS 2025 location.

International attractions

Hideo Kojima

Hideo Kojima confirmed its presence at Brasil Game Show (BGS) to promote its new game, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, launched in June of this year, which represents a milestone for the event and for Brazilian fans.

At the event, you'll learn details about the production and themes that inspire the new phase of the franchise. This will be the first time in eight years that Hideo Kojima comes to Brazil, since his last visit here was in 2017, also in an edition of Brazil Game Show.

Naoki Hamaguchi

Naoki Hamaguchi is a director and game developer at Square Enix. He has recently gained great prominence for his crucial role in revitalizing one of the company's greatest classics: he was co-director of Final Fantasy VII Remake and took over as lead director on the acclaimed sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth.

Plan your trip and arrive early.
