Samsung launches Big TVs line with QLED 98″ and OLED 77″

During a special event held in the city of São Paulo, the Samsung promoted the new launches of models in the Big TVs category, which feature a large panel and premium quality. The new smart TVs are targeted at those who value the image experience on large screens and, of course, can invest in models like this.

Aimed at the premium smart TV market, Samsung didn't skimp when choosing technologies for its new Big TVs. In addition to good sound quality, buyers can expect a visual experience that is the envy of competitors. Big TVs can be defined as models with panels larger than 77 inches. See details.

Samsung wants to break, with Big TVs, that impression that you need a big room to get the best experience. The new screens require reduced distances between the TV and the sofa, unlike what was seen in the past.

Sound Sync and Dolby Atmos support

Both models launched today by Samsung are able to “talk” to soundbars manufactured by the company. When connected to the same Wi-Fi network, the algorithm of the Sound Sync manages to combine smart TV speakers and soundbar to deliver one sound. This ensures that everyone in the room gets immersive sound from the power of the speakers on both devices.

Sound Synchrony is a great Samsung differential that allows the soundbar to be attached to the TV and prevents the 40 watts of smart TVs from being lost. It is possible to create more channels by unifying TV and soundbar channels.

The standard Dolby Atmos talks about adapting the audio emitted according to the type of media on the screen. 4K Neural Quantum Processor

Available to buyers from both Big TVs presented today, this processor has 20 neural networks that manage to improve the image so that, even if the resolution is not 4K, the best result is displayed on the big screen.

Another interesting novelty of this processor is that, through artificial intelligence, the images undergo a 3D rendering that allows everything, regardless of genre or type of media, to be seen with greater immersion. The company claims that the buyers of the 77S90C and 98Q90C will be able to see images with quality close to what we see in real life.

gaming hub

First launched in 2022, the gaming hub works within the operating system Tizen 2021 as a true gaming hub. In addition to enabling Bluetooth control pairing, smart TV owners can access the Xbox Gaming Pass, without the need for a console or computer. We remember that a subscription to the streaming of games is still required to take advantage of this feature.

Samsung's New Big TVs

77S90C

Already launched in sizes of 55 and 65 inches, the S90C wins a model for the Big TVs category. The 4K resolution OLED panel measures 77″ and features the processor Quantum Neural 4K so that the best experience in the resolution that is very common in the market is delivered to customers. The standard HDR10 + also arrives to deliver more vivid colors, functionality seen only in smart TV models from Samsung.

The Big Screens TVs strategy is based on all screens above 77 inches, starting with the 77 (inch) OLED model and going up to the 98-inch QLED model. Remembering that we also have Neo QLED with 4K and 8K resolution, in addition to an 85-inch The Frame, which is also part of this category of Big TVs.

The big difference of this OLED smart TV panel compared to LG panels is that the 77S90C arrives with a panel of quantum dots at the rear. A Samsung claims that this novelty guarantees better brightness for the screen, with a support that organic dots do not deliver.

Smart TVs with OLED are known for delivering good contrast due to each pixel being activated only when needed, delivering truer black tones.

Regarding the competitor's panel, we can say that Samsung finally delivered the OLED that the consumer expected, which is a smart TV with quantum dots. The quantum dot panel helps exert the shine that organic dots cannot deliver. We are experts in this technology for 5 years and we have put our knowledge into this 77-inch OLED model. The 77S90C has 8 million pixels on its panel.

With an eye on the experience of those who enjoy matches of all kinds, whether sports or eSports, Samsung states that 77S90C, with a 77-inch OLED panel, arrives with a panel with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz, which adapts according to the title to be played due to support for AMD's FreeSync Premium. The model does not have the technology G-sync from NVIDIA.

We are making a 77-inch model available because we realize that the Brazilian consumer is motivated to buy large screens, due to last year's World Cup. We also observed that there were large screen sizes, but only in the entry-level market, so the consumer ended up buying a cheaper model, just to have a larger screen size. We identified that there is also this more premium consumer, who likes both the quality and the larger screen size, so we are bringing the larger sizes to meet this need.

Another interesting detail is the viewing in Super Ultra-Wide Screen mode, which allows better viewing with screen format options of 21:9 and 32:9. Finally, you can use a secondary device from Samsung, like a Galaxy Tab or a Smart Monitor just to see the game map that's running on the big 77-inch screen. A Virtual Sight, which can be inserted into the screen, facilitates gameplay in FPS games.

About the sound, the speakers have 40W of power delivered by 2.1 channels. There is also a digital audio output on the back that can even connect with a Samsung soundbar so that the sounds are combined.

Connectivity arrives to deliver a connected experience: in addition to the Wi-Fi antenna, the 77S90C it has a Bluetooth 5.2 antenna and there is support for Alexa from Amazon and Bixby, from its own Samsung. In addition to the application Xbox Gaming Pass inside gaming hub, this OLED model can have other applications installed to make its use even more complete, such as Pluto TV, TikTok, Twitch , and more.

We are not focused on launching smaller OLED models at the moment, but we have 43 and 50 inch QLED models focused on the gaming strategy. While the 77-inch OLED has a 144Hz refresh rate and is the only one of its size with this feature, we don't just recommend it for gaming. But if the consumer wishes to use the 77S90C as a monitor, they will be very well served. We are more focused on delivering an enhanced, cinema-like experience, all indoors and with the best of all worlds.

All buyers can enjoy the free channels of Samsung TVPlus via streaming, which, in Brazil, has more than 65 free options that only require login via Samsung Account. There are options for movies, news, children's, sports, soap operas and much more.

Considered the largest QLED screen in Samsung, 98Q80CA it has a 98-inch QLED panel with 4K resolution (3,840 x 2,160). Its refresh rate is 120Hz and it can be used for both entertainment and online games. The processor Quantum Neural 4K can also be seen here, delivering the same features as the 77-inch OLED model.

Projectors are aimed at different consumers. They may even be cheaper, but they are different audiences. If you have a large room and want to have a 200-inch screen, you can even invest in a projector model. We have a study to see if the 98-inch QLED screen is too big for the consumer's home, but as technologies increase, you don't need to have such a huge distance between the TV and the couch. We recommend that the model be placed just 2 meters away, without the need for the consumer to live in a mansion to enjoy the maximum quality of the screen.
